Standard Process Renafood - Supports Healthy Kidney Function & Antioxidant Activity - Contains Vitamins A - Non-Soy - 180 Tablets

I began taking this supplement, along with a couple of other Standard Process Renafood products, based on a recommendation from a former co-worker. At the time, I was dealing with frequent sneezing and a constant runny nose. After starting these supplements, the results weren’t immediate, but over the course of a few months my allergy symptoms completely went away. I’ve been allergic to crustaceans since I was eight years old. Recently, I accidentally ate food that contained shrimp and fully expected to experience itching and a swollen tongue. To my surprise, after several minutes I had no reaction at all. Since then, I’ve been able to eat crustaceans without any allergic response. These supplements truly work wonders. I’m now purchasing them for my daughter, who has been struggling with a runny and stuffy nose.

I got this for my girl Gia, she's about 6 to 7 years old, a retired Italian Greyhound puppy mill Mommy that I adopted in November of 2021. While she was in foster care with me, she had to have things done medically before I adopted her. She needed to be spayed and have her awful mouth taken care of due to lack of vet care while in the puppy mill situation. The first thing was to have her blood work done to see if she could undergo anesthesia, something did not look right. More blood work was run and a urinalysis was also done. Come to find out, Gia had what is called PLN (protein losing neuropathy) which is a kidney issue and she was losing protein into her urine. Her mouth was so terrible that she lost all but 3 teeth and she was able to get spayed. I knew this condition could limit her lifespan but I knew I could not let her go, so I adopted her. I switched her food and researched as much as I could on supplements and ways to help her. She eats a cooked chicken diet with supplements and veggies, only dehydrated chicken or turkey for treats, I give a pre and probiotics soft chews from Nuti-vet at every meal for her tummy which was totally messed up, her meds the vet prescribed which is 2.5 mg of Enalapril at every meal and I also tried this, the Renafood and Renatrophin PMG at every meal. This combination has not only proved to be working but Gia's kidneys are now functioning within normal range and her protein values in her urine are continuing to be less and less every time we test, every 2 months. My other girl Raven, who is 15 also had beginning stages of kidney failure last fall. I put Raven on the same supplements and on Wednesday August 17, 2022 her kidneys also came back within normal range!!! These work and I'm so thankful to Standard process for making these amazing supplements! I also use this brand for myself and I could not be happier with the results.

While made for humans to support unhappy kidneys, I can also attest that it has worked to rescue 2 cats I know from imminent death. 4 tablets mixed into soft wet food per day, fed with eyedropper if needed. Just a couple of days worth brought both of these senior kitties back to vibrant health and extended life. I was told by two veterinarians the first (who was ten years old at the time and had given herself up for dead the night previous) would die. They offered fluid injections for comfort. I brought her in her basket to work with me so she would at least not have to die alone. By happy chance a naturopath friend who just happen to visit my office later that day gave me the formula and a jar of RenaFood. I dissolved the 4 tablets in a small can of cat food, gat an eyedropper and started feeding her the mix. Within two days, I got my kitty baclk and she lived well and healthy for another 5 years with no further interventions. More recently, I was able to recommend the formula to a friend for her kitty. She had similar results. The most recent purchase was for me for support as I take medication that can damage kidneys.

After taking this I had kidney pain that isn't going away. I have an appointment with my nephrologist soon. I was disappointed because the reviews were promising. Perhaps it was simply not a good choice for someone like myself with ckd. Update: So I had to clarify and update especially after the seller has been so accomadating and understanding. This particular supplement for me personally presented an issue but this as my doc explained (nephrologist) any supplement or medication that is designed to work similar to a diuretic even if remotely, can be problematic because for some of us not all but for some of us it can further dehydrate us. Dehydration of course can create stress on the kidneys. So my experience with this supplement was going to the bathroom more and it effected me negatively. That's not to say it won't work for others. I will be exploring this company's other supplements with the support of my doctor to support my function.

I first learned of this product when I heard Dr Jean Hofve recommend it as the number one supplement for cats in renal failure. My little girl is 19.5 years old. That is her true age, as I rescued the entire litter and mommy cat the day that they were born. She's had CRF for the past 2 years and she's holding steady. This is one of the supplements that she gets daily. There are many other things that cats in renal failure require. That includes Q10 for their heart (see Dr Judy Morgan online), a complex b-vitamin or B12, a product like Epakitin, which abdorbs some of the phosphorus, and a high-quality low-phosphorus food. I also use Pet Wellbeing kidney support drops, and cordyceps powder. Very good products for the kidneys. I never give my baby dry food. Nor do I give her a prescription food. They're horrible and not good for them. The one that I have found to be excellent is Weruva wx. It comes in different forms. It's high fat, moderate protein and very low carb. I also just started the Purina Hydrocare for more hydration, and Porus One (a charcoal absorbent made for CRF cats to remove toxins from the body.) Other than being skinny, as they will get, she's looking very beautiful, and she continues to be a very strong-willed girl. Lots of luck and ♥️ to your little kitty. CRF is not a death sentence. They can live for years. But it takes tremendous dedication and discipline on our part on a DAILY basis.

Great supplement to strengthen your kidneys and bladder!!

I have been taking for months. My last egfr was 79 and i just got tested and it was ip to 100. I also have increased my water intake to 100 oz per day. I think this product and the increase in water has helped my kidney function. I have kidney stones too so i am interested if this helps this too.

After reading ingredients more carefully, its not clear if the beef kidney ingredient has been heat treated for sterilization, or if its just freeze dried etc. I want to try it, but I don't feel totally confident. Make sure you're OK with each of the ingredients before you buy.
