My original TomTom holder's suction cup stopped holding onto the windshield for more than an hour, probably from getting less flexible due to the sun's heat. This one has a flip-lever for the suction cup and locks securely onto the windshield, much better and easier than the dial-mechanism of the original. TomTom's Customer Service referred me to Amazon and even sent me the link to order the replacement because mine was out of warranty. Serendipity. I also had a problem with the original holder (after it was not-so-new) tilting down every time I hit a bump and I would have to reach over and tilt it back up. This time I got it adjusted exactly like I wanted it then took the holder into the house and glued the ball joint on the back in place. This will circumvent the problem before it starts, because it is actually a poor design. Overall, I love the replacement, better design than the original.

I was a little skeptical about the whole magnetic thing holding my Tom Tom when I got it but this thing is solid. You really don't need one of those 3rd party mounts for this particular line. I have the one that came with my unit but I'm working on a DIY project that I didn't want to ruin the original. I had a hard time finding just this mount but if you ever see it available I'd say pick it up. I'm basically trying to create a way to have this closer to me where it's within finger's-reach from the steering wheel while I drive, so I'm not reaching over to where it would normally be mounted on the window. I do a decent bit of traveling for both of my jobs and having one less thing to distract me would help. Mind you this is not a universal mount and only works with the Tom Tom models listed.

The Good: My original TomTom suction mount stopped sticking to the windshield. The twist lock didn't lock anymore so the whole mount would fall from the windshield at the slightest vibration or just whenever it wanted to it seemed like. This ChargerCity OEM Easy Click Mount is awesome for sticking to the windshield. I think the latch lock mechanism is a much better design and I can't see how it could ever fail or deteriorate. I don't even need to wet the suction cup beforehand.The Bad: Although my TomTom would move with the slightest touch to the screen, this ChargerCity mount just flops right down when the car gets warm. My TomTom Go 2505TM was pointing face down when I got in my car. It was about 68 degrees outside on a cloudy day, but of course the interior of the car warmed up to about 85 degrees after I'd been in the store for 30 minutes. Fortunately, the way my dashboard is configured, I can let the bottom of the TomTom adapter rest on the dash to keep it propped up.I'd give this 3.5 stars if I could. I wish they could make the ball joint a little tighter or have more friction so that the TomTom would stay at its adjusted position. I'd understand it might slip on bumpy roads, but driving on the freeway, it should stay put.

My Go 2535 original mount got to where it would flop loose with the slightest bump in the road. The TomTom help desk sent me the link to see this item on Amazon. I ordered 2 so the 2535 could be easily transferred from car to car. I put the first one on the windshield of my pickup and within in the hour with no GPS in the holder it fell from the windshield. The suction cup had torn from the mechanism that holds it tight to the windshield. I removed it from the windshield and returned home shortly and put the second one I had bought for the other car in my truck after cleaning the windshield to make sure it would stay put. I applied the second mount with no GPS attached and left again to run errands. Again in less than an hour the mount fell to the dash. Again the suction cup had torn loose from the backing plate that is used to pull it tight against the windshield. Very dissa[pointed in the product especially after TomTom had directed me to the Amazon site. I will try to contact the selling company to see if they have any recommendations but the initial use was less than acceptable. 2 mounts broken beyond use in 2 hours.

I bought this mount for my GO2535 as an extra mount. The product page does not state that it will fit the GO2535 but it works great and in exactly like the one that comes with the original. This is a the best mount you can buy for your TomTom and I would highly recomment this product for anyone who needs or just wants to have an extra mount. The vendor was very helpful with any questions I had and the shipping was free and fast. A very good product at a very fair price.

If your window mount breaks (as mine did, when the suction cup came free on the window one day) or you want a second mount for another vehicle, this will do the trick. It's exactly (no better and no worse) the same as the original. There are other (more expensive) options, but given that mine lasted over a year before breaking? This one's a valid replacement.

Got this for my dad because we lost the original, and the universal mount we got at best buy was enormous and unwieldy. This thing is tiny, fits our Go Live perfectly, and has a good suction cup, we just leave it on the gps now. Good mount.
