I have 2C/3A hair, so this isn't specifically targeted for my hair type, but my hair is extremely thick, and I've always struggled with maintaining it. I do not like rewetting it and brushing it every day, and this is the only product that keeps my hair frizz-free and hydrated for days. I've rebought this three times over about 1.5 years, so I would say it lasts pretty long for the amount of hair I have (I use about 2/3 pumps for 1/4th of my hair). It's the only product I've used that keeps my hair defined while also making it very moisturized. The scent is subtle and fresh, and the consistency is like any other thicker cream. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with oily hair, as it's extremely hydrating and keeps my hair super soft, even when I have gel in it. I never review anything, but I felt like I needed to review this because I feel like I've tried every product under the sun that don't work for my hair that is inbetween traditional hair types and nothing has compared to this one. I just have to use this and gel when styling and that's it--no more mousse, leave-in conditioners, oils, etc. I've been using it consistently and for a long time that the strands of hair that have tended to be straight from tension are curling again! If there was one product I would recommend for anyone with wavy/curly/coily hair (especially thick hair!) it would be this one.

It works great! It is a little heavy so water to cream ratio depends on your porosity. But overall I’m loving the results. The smell is subtle. Not super crazy about it but it’s not bad. The curls lasted even after a day at the water park. It’s a cream so I didn’t use it to hold anything but it held the curls well while they were down. My package also came filled to the brim so it’s pricey but there is a lot of product.

After going through so many products, both cheap and expensive.. this one is PERFECTION!! My hair is so soft and defined with this product. There is no crunch, it helps hold and leaves no cast!

My hair felt amazing for days! But after a few days of falling asleep in my recliner and the back of my head being against the recliner (no bonnet or silk pillow case), the sides were still amazingly moisturized but the back center became a bit dry and a little frizzy. UPDATED 9/9/2025 - I'm 66 years old and I can't count the number of hair products I've used over the years, but this surpassed them all. In the past, I'd try and use a product for a few months but then decide that my hair responded just as well, if not better, to basic Jergens body lotion. But with this, the feel of my hair a couple of weeks later (without washing or rewetting) is amazing. I don't know how to describe that it's moisturized yet it doesn't feel wet, nor goopy, nor thickly weighed down. Yesterday I went to the pool for senior exercises and the tips of my braids (not a style, just braided to easily stick it all in the shower cap. Not a swim cap because I'm not actually swimming), the ends got wet and looked amazing when I unbraided it. That showed me that I could probably just spray my hair down without adding more product and look like Wash Day 1, if I wanted to.

Pattern products are simply THAT GIRL. I try to catch sales but honestly, they’re worth every penny sis! This styling cream works great on my 3c curls and GREAT on my daughter’s 4a curls. A little also goes a long way (12+ day wash n go) so since it is quality product, it lasts longer and I believe is worth the cost.

Why is no one talking about the smell. Like omg, I'm 27 and smell like a grandmother at church. if you don't use a lot of the product or if you don't get hot during the day people might not smell it but I have a lot of har and move around for work and there is a definite scent trail. That aside it does make my curls pop. I'm not mixed at all btw for the reviews that say it's for mixed hair. I have to really work the product into my hair in order for the white residue to go away which is annoying but whatever. I apply on wet hair(filtered shower water so it doesn't lock in heavy metals and cause breakage) I pull it through each section of my curls and then blow dry on cool. I use a regular croc infrared blow dryer not to dry the hair but get my coils uniform & seal the styling cream around the moisturized locs. For the people saying it makes the hair heavy you have the wrong conditioner for your hair. my hair goes down to the middle of my back when I'm in the shower & as you can see in the photo it's not even touching my shoulders. The size of the container is huge for how much I use every day. Other things.. I could take a nap with a bonnet on and my curls will still hold. My hair is now super soft and I can run my fingers through it.

Excellent product, pleasant to use, defines natural curls and combats dryness. but the price is too costly.

This is the best styling cream I have ever used. Holds better than gel whilst leaving hair soft. Such a shame it’s now out of stock everywhere.
