Professional house cleaning and only vacuum I use!
With ten years of cleaning professionally, the only vacuum cleaner I’ll use is the Shark. Over the years I’ve owned five of them and in my opinion they are the best on the market. I like them so much that I usually buy one every couple of years and give the one I use for work away to a family that needs a vacuum. The reason I buy a new one every few years is because I look forward to the newer models . Mine are used 7 days a week and the houses I’m in are 10,000 square feet. They are in constant use and the first one I gave away is ten years old and running like a top according to the family that is still using it. The number one complaint from reviews I’ve seen is the weight. Yes, it’s heavy, weighing 17 pounds. It’s self propelled and will run away if you don’t learn how to use it correctly. An elderly person who has problems with walking or lacking strength should not use this particular model. I’m elderly, 69, but I’m physically fit and lift it in my SUV twice daily 7 days a week. I vacuum staircases and every part of these houses. The suction is powerful . I’ve used the most expensive vacuums and they don’t come close to the Shark vacuums. This particular model is the quietest vacuum I’ve ever used. The most important thing I can say is to clean your vacuum regularly. The Shark is easy to take apart for cleaning. I break mine down once a week to clean every part of it, including the roller, wheels and electrical cord. Vacuum cleaners work hard and get nasty if they aren’t cleaned properly and regularly. So, if you’re looking for something that will last and work like new every day, year after year, then Shark is the best choice and the most reliable vacuum made. Hope this helps if you’re looking for a vacuum cleaner.

Great for Pet Hair in Carpets
Incredible vacuum for pet hair! It has great versatility between the different modes, but all those options may take time to learn if you're coming from a simple vacuum. Thankfully, the included manual is great and if you're not a reader, all the knobs and buttons are labelled and their placement makes sense, so you'll figure it out eventually. Our apartment is mostly carpet and we have 2 cats. My spouse recently got diagnosed with asthma, so we upgraded our vacuum to try to get more of the hair and dander. This vacuum is incredible at picking up everything! The carpet looks new after and the results in the dust bin are amazing. This is a fairly heavy vacuum, so if you have an extremely large home or limited mobility, you may find your arm gets tired. It does roll really smoothly and you have a lot of control with turns/curves. At first I thought the light in front of the swivel head was a gimmick, but I was surprised with how useful it is. I was able to see a hidden paperclip in the carpet before running it over. Emptying the bin is an easy lever that also closes and re-latches the bin's lid without having to touch the dusty parts. Hair doesn't get stuck in the bin like other vacuums, it just falls right out. I appreciate this vacuum and it's a great upgrade. I have heard Shark products are not the longest lasting, but we've been using this regularly for almost 6 months now with no issues. Still great performance and I'd really recommend this to carpeted households with furry friends.

High quality vacuum cleaner at a very reasonable price
I waited a couple months to do a review so that I had a good sample size on utilization. We have had a Shark Navigator for many years. It still runs and does a really nice job, but this Stratos is an upgrade in performance. The new Shark also has not clogged up with hair (so far) which was my primary pain point with our old Navigator. The Stratos cord length is about perfect for me, and the pickup on multiple surfaces is terrific. The Stratos weighs a bit more than the old Navigator, but I have no issue with lift away use. I will add that I am a pretty strong man, so the weight may be a concern for some users. The only downside is that it comes packaged with few attachments. My old Navigator came with an entire bag of extra attachments. Unfortunately, the Navigator attachments are not compatible with the Stratos vacuum. I love the Shark products. In my experience, they are better than more expensive machines from others (Dyson).

A vacuum that literally sucks! In a bad way!
I hate this vacuum! It sucks! It's the design of the rollers is what is prohibiting it. Sure they don't get hair caught up in them but they don't "aggravate" the carpet enough to really get all of the debris sucked up! My old shark had a big bristle roller with great suction and it would get all of the debris off of the carpet. This model, the big roller has very little bristles on it and it does not get the fine hair (I have 2 cats) up, I have to go over the same carpet several times to get the same results that I used to get with the older (and much cheaper) shark vacuum that I mistakenly gave away before using this one. Also, this vacuum is extremely heavy, very bulky and the design is awful. The lift away problems that other reviewers here have mentioned are terrible as well. Ergonomically its a nightmare, you will get a workout using it. The one thing that it does have is a lot of sucking power, like I said in the beginning, It sucks! Unfortunately that doesn't translate into a better result than my older less powerful, bristle rolled, cheaper Shark that I had before. It's too much money for a bad design and I wish I had returned it while it was still within the return timeframe. Edit/Update: This is what AI concluded. "For YOUR apartment and YOUR carpets: 👉 The older Shark Navigator is actually the better vacuum. Not because it’s more advanced, but because: It matches your flooring better It uses a carpet-first roller design It prioritizes agitation over gimmicks" Also, you can't buy replacement main brush rollers for the newer Shark DuoClean vacuums. You must buy the entire head (cost on Shark's website $104.99.) The entire head is not covered under warranty either, Older Shark models tended to treat the entire floorhead as part of the covered product. Newer ones often exclude it or restrict coverage because they label it a “wear item” or “consumable component,” So if you buy the vacuum and anything in the head breaks right away it is not covered under warranty and you have to buy the whole entire floorhead or "head" for $104.99. If the main roller wears out you can't replace it, you have to buy the entire floorhead for guess how much? $104.99. I did my research on this and I wish I could post the entire pdf file that I made which has more info but I can't post it in this review. I will never buy another shark vacuum again.

Great upright. Disappointing lift-away vestiges.
Shark Stratos AZ3002. Pros: Great cleaning. Picks up dirt from previously vacuumed carpets. If you plan to use this only as an "upright" without the lift-away feature it is a fine vacuum. Buy it. Cons: Maneuverability isn't bad, but is nowhere near my old Shark UV810 that it replaced. There are only vestiges of the "lift-away" feature that helped make Shark successful with vacuums. The powerhead is wider and heavier, as is the lift-away portion. The wider powerhead may look like an advantage but it is not. I was disappointed my old UV810 had such a small head until I used it and found how easily it maneuvered under and around things. It could also be "steered" easily by turning the wrist. It could even be used easily on stairs with the lift-away feature and with the power button on the removable portion. The on-off power switch has been moved from the lift-away portion where it fell right under the thumb while carrying it, to the handle. Fine for use as an upright, but now need a third hand to operate it as a lift-away or when using tools. The dust container on my Shark UV810 emptied cleanly and easily. It convinced me "bagless" vacuums can be OK. As others have said, the dust container on the AZ3002 is a disaster. Popping it open with the new lever approach sends dust everywhere. Closing it up again sends dust everywhere. I am exploring solutions but it may require taking it outside to empty into the trash. The cord on the AZ3002 is shorter than our old UV810. This is more annoying than you might expect. Features other than pros and cons: The brush roll does seem to be self-cleaning as advertised. It is no longer "brushes," but fins. The old brush was easy and economical to replace. The main roller on the AZ3002 is no longer replaceable. We'll see if it holds up. The brightness of the lights on the AZ3002 disappoint compared to our old UV810, but are fine. They still don't work with the wand and tools. Several reviewers found the cord stiff. I wouldn't have noticed. Yes, as others have noted, tools will not stay on the storage pegs. Plan to carry them around with you. In summary, the AZ3002 excels at cleaning rugs and floors. I miss the convenient lift-away features on our old UV810. I always used it with the lift-away separated, which is now impractical.

Best sweeper since the Kirby in my opinion!
I have had lots of sweepers. This one is by far the best one I’ve had since the Kirby in the 1980s. I have hardwood floors but also some large rugs. I was amazed how much dirt the Stratos lifted out of the rugs. It was confirmation on how poorly the other vacuums performed. It has a button at your fingertips to switch between floor surfaces instead of bending over to switch it at the rollers. There are three attachments. Two of them have a storage place at the bottom of the vacuum. The third one is the pet power brush. The pet power brush does not have a place to be stored on the sweeper. The dust bin is easy to take off and dump. It dumps from the bottom with the push of a button, so your hands don’t get dirty. It has headlights which isn’t a big deal to some people until you’ve had a sweeper with headlights. The cord is way longer compared to other models I’ve had. I was worried the second time I went to use it because it wouldn’t turn on. I thought oh great!! I got a lemon! I found the reason it wouldn’t turn on is because I didn’t have the wand properly connected. Honestly, I can’t think of anything to say bad about this vacuum. If there’s anything that I think people would complain about its the weight. If you’re looking for a light vacuum, this is not the one for you. If you want a sweeper that will actually suck the dirt out of your carpet/rugs this one is hard to beat! PROS: Self cleaning Dual brushrolls : Has a place to put a scented pouch (optional) : The best suction since the vintage Kirby : Three attachments including self cleaning pet power brush. : Floor surface switch at your fingertips. : the wand detaches in 2 places so you can make it longer or shorter. : Dust bin dumps from the bottom : Has headlights : Longer cord compared to others. CONS: heavier then other models (but worth it) : If the cord is wrapped up it gets in the way of the dust bin when reattaching it.

Shark Stratos: The Vacuum of My Dreams!
Oh my goodness! This vacuum is amazing!! This guy picks up everything I couldn't even see and that my Bissell Power Force Helix Turbo couldn't get! I already vacuumed with it then used this Shark Stratos. The bin was full and I only vacuumed my walk in closet!! What the heck?! I routinely clean my old vacuum but this one is insanely good! My carpet FEELS clean! Huge difference! It's pretty easy to put together and use. All the buttons/levers to change how you use it are very well labeled and pretty obvious to use. It's fairly heavy HOWEVER it's really not an issue. The wheels are so incredibly smooth and on high pile setting it glides along for you. Pushing or pulling is super easy! If you don't want to pick up the entire vacuum, you have many options to configure it if you want to vacuum corners or stairs to lighten the vacuum. You can assemble it so you only have the pole to vacuum under beds or dressers. I have the AZ3002 model for reference. It's a corded upright so no need to worry about battery life. You have 3 floor settings: thick carpet/area rug cleaning, carpet/low pile carpet cleaning, and hard floor cleaning. I tried it on each different surface in my home and it's great! Suction is out of this world!! I love that it has a white light especially on hardwood to see the difference. The light also changes colors if there's an issue that needs to be addressed. No issues have been had though. It comes with an odor cartridge that makes the floor smell awesome too! You can dial it way up for max freshness or turn it off completely if smells bother you. My dog's area near his cage where he usually hangs out seems clean as I vacuum it nearly everyday. Nope! This vacuum picked up his hair I couldn't even see, the carpet visibly is lighter in color now!! It comes with 3 attachments: crevice tool, upholstery tool and the pet multi tool. There are plenty more attachments to get which I certainly will be doing! I'm floored! If you can afford this, do it! Do the payment plans, something! It's so worth it!

Amazing unit. pick up everything. Was #3 on best sweepers but i didn't need the new model with a floor light and a automatic sensor for floor detection or the Dyson Animal 3. saved a ton of money. use every couple days and cat hair is in it all the time. I own two cats. It also has best suction ever. gets fine dirt even on hardwwods and kitchen linoleum. Welll worth it.
