I bought these after my wife bought a tiny pot of hugely expensive smoked sea salt. I thought, I can do that! I have plenty of wood scraps, but Lidl offered a bag of whisky oak chips, so now with a big tub of sea salt crystals I am set to make a lifetime supply at half the price.

Good wire mesh with a very tight grid and it is thick enough it will hold its shape. It is not cheap and thin but nice and thick. You can flex it and it will want to return to flat. So if you are using it for that type of project its good as well.
