This was an urgent buy since my front porch light went out. I gave 4put of 5 stars due to the ugly yellow color. They should make a white one. That’s just a gross color for a light bulb. It works fine and it does put out ample light for my entryway. Price ok.

Gives off just the right amount of light! Good quality, bought over a year ago and still havent had to use the second bulb. It screws right in like a standard bulb.

It's plenty bright enough to light up the porch. It wasn't so much a bug issue as a big hairy spider issue. I swept the spiders off, and after two nights they haven't returned. Except for that one that rebuilt during the day. And when the light came on at night it flinched at the sudden increase in light. Take that! I wound it up on a stick and tossed it out to the yard. I read somewhere that the bulb with no blue doesn't attract spiders. There are still mosquitoes, but they naturally occur in a high density anyway. I'm guessing there are just as many in the unlit part of the yard. We did have one large bug startle us by flinging itself headfirst into the glass, but it could have been trying to get inside to watch TV with us. I wanted a "dark skies" kind of bulb, that had a straight down light. This bulb has a 170 degree beam, which is almost horizontal, and produces light out the sides like a typical incandescent/fluorescent bulb. I'll use this bulb in the under eave recessed light fixtures on the porch. I want a dark skies appearance from a wall mount light fixture, and since I'm not allowed to paint the glass in the fixture will probably go with a PAR 20 type of bulb. The side of the box says it is a high cri bulb, and I can't tell just by looking, but the colors of the flowers nearby still have their normal appearance.

J'étais très sceptique à l'effet que ces ampoules puissent éloigner les insectes de nuit, mais ça fonctionne vraiment. Je les laisse allumées le soir et si je reviens à la maison quand il fait noir le soir ou la nuit, il n'y a absolument aucun insecte qui vole autour de ma porte d'entrée, même pas de fils d'araignée, rien du tout. Je n'en revenais tout simplement pas. Moi qui avais un insectarium au grand complet sur mon balcon le soir, je ne pouvais même pas laisser la lumière allumée plus que quelques secondes, j'étais très vite envahie et ils rentraient dans la maison. Là, il n'y a plus rien. C'est un miracle ces ampoules! En plus, j'aime l'éclairage jaune, ça fait plus chaleureux et joli devant l'entrée de la maison, moins agressant que les ampoules blanches. Je les recommande, très bon achat. J'en ai parlé à mon propriétaire et il était vraiment content, il va s'en acheter pour ses autres maisons. J'ai hâte d'avoir de ses nouvelles! :)

Bought these because it said that these lights will repel mosquitoes, it does not. If you buy these lights for that, please don't. I like the light itself, no problem with that.
