Is this waterproof safety?

As far as I know , the only part that is "WATERPROOF" is the sonar head. The readout case may be water resistant, but NO GUARENTEE to that statement. I really do not understand the "SAFETY" aspect of your inquiry, but short of hitting someone with either part ---- it is DC voltage ( no chance of a shock ) and quite safe.
