I like that you push the button to open and close it, but you have to manually compress the shaft to shorten it back down, and it has very strong resistance. So if you are not strong, it’s hard or stiff to close. Also, it’s never fitting back in its travel case once you pull it out, it fluffs up to twice the size. Still, a sturdy umbrella, slightly heavy due to thicker material and good size/coverage, with a nice concept. Bonus, you could club an attacker with it.

Update 9/5 I wish I could give this thing more than 5 stars. We just had a monsoon flash flood with Hail!!! This thing held up with out and problems!!! This umbrella is perfect for Arizona. The one click open is amazing the close is a little harder it will close back up but you have to use two hands or push it against something to slide it back down in place. The thickness of the material is beautiful, it blocks out all of the sun. I can true feel the difference being underneath it. I got the medium size, it covers me and if I let me kids walk in front of me it covers them. Or I will hold me son and have my daughter walk next to me to cover both of us. I do wish they offered a large size and/or a small size. A large to cover all 3 of us while walking or a small size for my daughter to hold. She can hold this one but it is just a little too big for her. However the quality of this umbrella for the sun is so amazing I would buy 2 small ones for my kids. I can't attest to how it functions in the rain, since again I live in Arizona and bought it for the sun. I can say it held up well on a windy day you can obviously feel the wind pull at it but it did not bend or flap. I highly recommend this umbrella for Arizona residents or anyone looking to block the sun especially for the price.

I have no idea whether this umbrella works to block UV rays or not or if it stands up to weather because I never actually used it. When I received it I took it out of the package and opened it. First thing I noticed was it seemed to be made out of the same material as all other umbrellas I've owed, wasn't sure it was actually UV or spf 50 like it states, but I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and wait till I tried it out before making that judgement. My problem with this umbrella came when I tried to close it. I pulled down on it just like anyone would normally do but it wouldn't snap into place. I kept trying as hard as I could and still wouldn't click closed. I just eased up on the pressure I was using to keep it closed and the thing snapped back open with so much force it nearly took off my finger. Despite the fact that there are no sharp edges it sliced a good 2" cut in my finger that I thought was going to need stitches. Thankfully I was able to stop the bleeding and didn't end up in the ER. Needless to say I'm returning this and not taking a chance of getting hurt worse! This is a very poorly designed umbrella and I would never recommend it to anyone!

New update..*** update! Return was super easy and I needed A second one anyway..I really Like these umbrellas..so now I have 2 and maybe I just Had bad luck with the one that the spring popped out. I think It’s been about a month and the spring popped out. Returning for a replacement☹️ I love This umbrella. About to order a second one in a different color
