If you are outside of range will you still receive a notification of power outage?

Yes. The notification to you is through the internet connection, not directly to your phone. You can be anywhere in the world, as long as your phone has an internet connection you will receive the notification.

Does the device send an alert if it also looses wifi?

You need to be connected to the internet. It only sends emails. If you need power for your wifi router, like I do, get a battery backup.

Can the notifications of a power outage be sent to multiple people?

They sure can! You can invite others to share your app account, so they can receive emails and/or push notifications for the device alerts. Only the account admin (you) can receive text messages. Enjoy! Eric with YoSmart

Will you receive an alert in the app or email if there is no internet/wifi connectivity due to loss of power or do you need a battery backup?

You do not need battery back-up. You will be notified if the PFA detects a loss of power. You will also be notified if it or the hub goes offline, for whatever reason. The PFA, and the Hub, are supervised devices. Our server is monitoring their device heartbeat 24/7. If they don't check in, they are marked as offline, and you get a notification. If the PFA is online and detects a loss of input power (USB from the included 120V plug-in adapter, or from a USB outlet), you will get a power failure notification. All said, you're going to get a power fail notification (if internet is available) or a device offline notification (should the internet and power go out).
