Excellent enclosure — fast, easy, and solid value
I bought this enclosure and I’m really impressed. Installing the drive was completely tool-free and straightforward, thanks to the simple sliding design. The aluminum shell is lightweight and not burdensome. Once I plugged it in via USB-C, it was instantly recognized (no drivers required) Solid build quality and good cooling thanks to the aluminum body and thermal pad. Broad compatibility: worked with my Windows PC, and also tested on a Mac without a hitch.

Exactly What You Want
Works like you expect. Nice enclosure that saves you from holding on to that old drive from a deceased laptop. Now we have mondo storage for videos on the tv. Sturdy, light and easy to load.

Get this one, please. It's cheap and works well.
Get this over the SSK, seriously. They cost the same. This one is actually USB3 10Gbps, whereas the SSK runs at USB2 but claims USB3. My cheapo NVMe drive in this UGREEN adapter gets over 900MB/s. It's also very easy to insert the drive, with a little rotatable rubber nub holding it in place.

Very solid product minus the screw.
perfect product, the "screw" it comes with to keep the SSD down was a joke but it works perfectly nonetheless, its been sitting out of sight holding my games for a while now its worth it for 15$ or wtv i paid.

Perfect external SSD enclosure
Love this thing. Works quickly to allow me to flash whatever is necessary onto the SSD. Plus-and-play usage is excellent, acting the same as any other drive plugged into a USB. The plastic "screw" to hold in the drive is a little tough but I am a larger person with big hands, so it was a little expected. Overall, excellent quality.

Great little enclosure
UGreen usually has great products and this is no exception. Easy to install the SDD and it works as advertise. I like the rubber protection, but who knows how effective it would be, I'm not going to test that for y'all. I have purchased a few as backup devices for work, they work great. Too bad NVME drives have gone thru the roof lately.

Getting the SSD in this is the most difficult part of ownership.
This enclosure is slightly bigger than a full-length nmve SSD, so reasonably sized. This makes it easily portable. There are no screws, but at the same time, the mechanism to open it and get the SSD in/out is pretty flimsy. I'm talking about the enclosure, not the hold downs for the SSD itself. It uses twist style capture locks for the SSD, which were great. I didn't test the speed transfer, but it was except able and comparable to other devices. I'm using an older USB 3 hub, not a 3.1 or 3.2 hub. So, for me it was fast enough. All in all, this was a functional enclosure. I bought it for a particular purpose which I ended up not needing it for, but still used it for some data transfers. It worked great for that purpose. The biggest challenge was actually getting the SSD into the M2 slot. It's tight and required more effort than I'm used to.

Installation woes… smooth sailing after that, hopefully
It works, but I had to come back to this listing to figure it out. 1st: I bought a similar enclosure before this from ssk, and everything worked out of the box. 2nd: in a way, this one worked out of the box, except I would have had to reinstall the nugget pin that held in the drive, and would have had to replace the heatsink after having to open it and handle it. ********3rd VERY IMPORTANT: Though this wasn’t the case for my ssk enclosure, with this enclosure you must format the drive before windows recognizes it as a drive****** I went through a lot of troubleshooting before realizing that it was perfectly fine that when I plugged in the enclosure to my computer, the ssd didn’t show up as a drive. I’m sticking it on a raspberry pi. The raspberry pi image creator had no trouble seeing the drive as a drive I might want to flash raspberry pi os to. I immediately was able to write the image and format the drive. The problem was that I expected windows to call it D: or E:, and it didn’t. I figured there was something wrong. There wasn’t. While there are special instructions about this in the Amazon listing at the end of the description, it cost me a lot of time. Also, the tool less design isn’t solid. It realize on a little nugget that you push through a hole on the frame of the enclosure. It failed the first time I tried it, I think because the thermal pad got snagged on it and it came out of the mounting hole. Because of that I ended up dropping the thermal pad and possibly ruining it. …. I’m going with three stars not 4. On the other hand I do believe it’s working fine now. I have replacement pads coming in the mail. I’d rather have a little screw. Tool less makes it sound easier, but it wasn’t for me. I’d much rather use a mounting screw that I can count on than a nugget pin that I can’t. I hope the enclosure works well from here on out, but the ssk with a mounting screw is much better than this tool free enclosure. Yes, being that I’m replacing the thermal pad, I think a loss of 2 stars is warranted. If you’re comfortable with everything I mentioned, this could be a five star enclosure, but it obviously was a huge pain my first time around.
