Full-Stack JavaScript Development: Develop, Test and Deploy with Mongodb, Express, Angular and Node on Aws Paperback – August 9, 2016

I bought the book to learn about MongoDB and Angular, but the book covered all of the components of a traditional 3 tier architecture and how all of these pieces fit together. Eric has done a fantastic job explaining how MongoDB, Angular, Express and Node.js come together to create a "full-stack" application.I also like the larger print; I'm a little older and the small print of some technical books gives me a headache. That and the abundant graphics sprinkled throughout the text made it a lot easier for me to understand. I also appreciated the abundant code snippets accompanying the text to explain how each idea works.My one complaint about the text is that the index is not as good as it could have been; but for a step-by-step tutorial book, that's not hard to understand. I highly recommend this book.

This author of the book seemed know what he was teaching well. He provides a lot of useful information. The only downsides are that the book is a bit dry and also that the author doesn’t always do a great job at explaining things and assumes some familiarity with a lot of concepts. So, with that said, this a good book but not for someone who is completely new to web development.

It is OK for me. I was looking for something more detailed.

Excellent book!!! I was a newbie to all this stuff and now I feel so comfortable with it! Im now using the MEAN stack to develop an app!!

Covers even the minute details about the architecture!!

I'm almost done with this book and it has taking me from knowing nothing to someone who could understand the code from many different parts of the stack. It goes over the core components that you need. I would recommend buying this.

Bad book

Buen libro para el tratamiento de FullStack.Para quien no noconoca el acrónimo MEAN, el libro trata sobre programación en Javascript y, ante la problemática de que Javascript era programación del lado de cliente y sin BBDD, aparece Node como entorno de programación también en javascript pero del lado de servidor.De esta forma tenemos Javascript del lado de cliente (como siempre) y además del lado del servidor (con Node).A este entorno de javascript tanto en client como en servidor, se añaden los frameworks (que no son necesarios utilizar si no quieres) más utilizados que son Express (por parte del servidor) y Angular (por parte del cliente).Por último se añade una base de datos (una de tantas) llamada MongoDB que es una BBDD noSQL sino documental.MEAN = MongoDB + Espress + Angular + NodePuedes utilizar Node (Javascript de lado del servidor) junto con el Javascript tradicional del lado de cliente sin tener que utilizar ni Angular, ni Express ni MongoDB (puedes utilizar otras BBDD ya sean relacionales como MySQL, SQLite,... o ya sean noSQL).Lo recomiendo, no solo el libro sino utilizar sus enseñanzas sobre MEAN (y utilizar cada una de las cosas que representan las 4 letras de la palabra MEAN, aunque quizá mejor MySQL que MEAN).

By far the best book on the mean stack I've read so far and I've read half a dozen not including book solely on angular or node or mongo ect. Chapters in right order for once. Db then server then angular. Length of chapters relative to importance in stack.

It achieves a good balance between a "how to do it" bookand an explanation of the concepts involved andof possible alternatives.

Un buen libro sobre el MEAN Stack. Eric explica a lo largo del libro, y de una forma muy clara, los diversos componentes: MongoDB, Express, Angular y Node JS. Acompaña su explicación con ejemplos para ir construyendo una aplicación de noticias y aconseja sobre sitios en donde alojar la base de datos de prueba.Recomendable al 100% (por cierto, está en inglés por si alguien no se da cuenta :) ... pero es muy legible)
