Power prob is an amazing diag tool I use it for everything

Very impressed! Love the new features on the power probe 4, would definitely recommend this to anybody that does automotive work whatsoever. Even easier than the power probe 3.

Save your time and energy by using this to find broken wires. Especially in a wiring harness that is in loom or factory fabric

Updated at almost a year: The case still sucks. And that alone will continue to reduce by 1 star. Now my use has grown from mower to everything with a 12V DC wiring. I absolutely love it. My trailers, my farm tractors, my trucks, always electric problems and this helps me diagnose so much easier, well I just love it. But that crappy plastic case, once out, it ain't going back in the case for storage. Now for me, it is the greatest electric diagnostic tool ever. I love it. Worth every penny. Updated: I have been using 3 months now. Original review still stands. I tried using its storage case, but the case, well once out of the case, it a pain to put away the set. I just bought a HB Apache case and stored the kit there. I have found it is great for use on zero turns, solenoids and safety sitches are short lived on mowers. So i found i use it a lot on my various mowers. Lots of cheap electronics on mowers, so a lot of power probe needs, for troubleshooting. But darn that original cheap case is annoying enough to make me want to lower to 3 stars, but dropping two stars for a case, just ain’t fair. Items are decent. Works as it should. Case really sucks. I just bought another case at Harbor Freight with foam and put it in there. It's okay. Perhaps if the case held everything, I would be happier. But I opened it, and half the items just fell out. I gave up putting items back in the case. Hence as I mentioned above, I went out and bought a HB foam insert case.

If you troubleshoot electrical circuits in an automobile this tool is extremely useful. The main feature of the probe tool is to have the ability to test both with and without power from the battery. The trace part of the kit is a two part tool with transmit and receive modules that gives you the ability to trace and find the precise location of a short.

Took me about a hour from the time I opened the box till time I found a bad factory splice on a spray rig foamer circuit. Probably would have spent all day trying to find the problem without it and may have never it. Well worth the price every if I only use it half dozen times a year just for the frustration factor along but I'm pretty sure I'll use it way more than that.

Excellent tool simple to use and it does so much. It’s amazing. I rarely rarely use my power meter anymore. The only thing I really actually use it for is to test impedance and continuity. I definitely recommend having this in your toolbox has made testing & programming easier than ever.

Couldn’t do without it

This is the most amazing, easy to use, versatile and all-in-one electrical tool that i have used to date. This makes all automotive electrical work super easy, and kind of fun to do. I look for reasons to pull out this tool, and someone I don't even need it, but I still use it. On the very first day that I used this, I found an impossible broken wire within a bundle of wires which ran though my truck chassis. This tool helped my turn traditional trial and error into a very quick diagnosis and repair. With everything great that is this tool, however, there is one thing that is missing, not a big problem, but it could have been a good accessory to have, which is the 12v cigarette lighter adapter lead to use as a power source. The older power probe kit did include it, I'm not sure why the company decided to remove it from the newer models. I just ended up making my own, and you can too, very easily.

It’s an awesome little kit. Heaps of features on the power probe itself. Would recommend buying an extension lead at the same time for a bit extra length.

Not compatible with earlier Powerprobe extension leads and no extension lead available as far as I can tell. This can be a problem working on trucks and large machines
