Looks great with a Hurst Shifter in a 1956 Chevy Nomad

This is a good value, the rubber is of good quality. The plate that is included is the only reason this is 4 stars. The chrome plate is very thin, as others have commented, it will deform when you tigthen down the screws. If they could double the thickness it be a 5 star product. If the boot top will be installed 2" or more higher than the plate, you will have plenty of flex. The more extended the boot the easier it will move forward/back left/right. If your top shifter level point is closer to the shift plate, the rubber will bind and not enjoy moving more than about 3/4" in any direction. Simple physics, the ripple needs to be present for flexibility. Those who complain the rubber is too stiff most likely have it low on the shift lever close to the shift plate. I am using this to keep the outside weather from getting in my car, I am topping this with a leather shift boot and a plate from another brand.

This shifter boot is described that it "Covers rectangular openings up to 4 In. x 5 In." But, those are only the inside measurements of the chrome frame. The outer measurements of the frame are 5 1/4" wide x 6 3/8" long. Although the ribs in the boot are slightly different, it's dimensionally identical to the old Hurst shifter boot (probably part number 1144580, or "B-4") that was already in this car. It also seems to be dimensionally identical to a Mr. Gasket 9648 boot. Maybe this is helpful to you, maybe not. Anyway, I returned it because the outer measurements do not work for the new transmission tunnel that I built for this car.

Put in my 2017 rzr 1000 and it worked great

It fits my 93 rodeo 5 speed perfectly. And I got 2 and modified the other one to fit my 4x4 shifter on my 93 rodeo. Great quality good packaging, its really good packaging all the hardware would make a cool gift for a car guy or gal. Update to negative reviews my rodeo 5 speed has a short gear pattern I can see if u have a wide shift pattern it could be a problem but I like it for my rodeo

Do not use for a manual shifter in cold environments. Tears easily.

Didn't work for what I originally wanted (which is my fault, should have read and dimensions closer) but very nice quality boot nonetheless.

Needed a shift boot for a very old car. The metal trim was flexible so I was able to shape it to the transmission tunnel. Good value.
