If it had not been for the reviewer Anna, I would not have given it 5 stars but with her guidance, it was easy to put together and ready to use in about 45 minutes. The shelves are sturdy, attractive, and well made. Very important..or 45 minutes could turn into hours. When you put the basic frame together before you add the wooden shelves MAKE SURE THE HOLES ON THE FRAME are all on the same side. The instructions do not mention this. If the holes are not on the same side, and you have started putting on the shelves, you will need to take them all off; as the shelving will not be stable. Another piece of advice, make sure when you put the top shelf on, the hole that has been drilled on the underside of the top shelf should be toward the back. It's easy to think all the wooden shelves are alike, however, the top one is slightly different. My shelves are in an area where the length, width, and height are important. They fit nicely and I am happy with my purchase. Thank you to the reviewers (others mentioned these details, too) including Anna who took time to help me and others. :)

Solid shelving unit that was easy to assemble with great stability and adjustable feet!

Went together easily, nice and tall, like the coloring, plus decent quality parts and build manual.

This shelf works perfectly in my small living room. Tall and relatively narrow it doesn’t take up a lot of floor space but gave me a lot more room for books. The dark brown wood-look shelves go with the other wood furniture I have in the room, and the metal frame looks great with my matte black floor lamps. Because it doesn’t have solid sides you get more “line of sight” in the small space, which I think would be missing with a regular closed in bookshelf, which would subsequently make the room look more crowded. As you can see from my pictures I have stacked quite a lot of books on the shelves (with the assistance of some decorative black book ends). The shelves are very sturdy and haven’t had any problem holding them. My only small qualm with the product was the anti-tip bracket they sent. It’s a shiny bronze color which doesn’t match so it’s more noticeable than I’d like. It’s also too small so I had to bend it to allow it to reach the pre-drilled under-shelf hole and against the wall.

Surprisingly sturdy; well designed. My only complaint is that they do provide an assembly tool: #2 Phillips head on the longest arm of an Allen wrench, with a Metric #4 hex drive on the right-angle turn. To assemble one of these bookcases with this tool would be an inordinate waste of time, patience, and energy (I had four bookcases to build, so my tolerance-level may have been exceeded). Buy a ratcheting driver that will accept 1/4" bits and ensure you have selected the correct bits. The shelves lay on top of the horizontal frame members, attached by running machine screws vertically through the frame members into the bottom of the board, providing a much stronger and secure assembly than other bookcases that have you butting the shelf ends to the inside surface of the horizontal frame member with machine screws running horizontally through the frame member into the end of the shelf ( this results in the load on the shelf being carried ONLY by the machine screws, rather than the load being borne solely by the frame member) .

Bookcases arrived when expected I ordered 5 and all were well packed. There was nothing misssing or damaged. Tools needed were enclosed. These bookcases are study and easy to put together. These are worth the price paid. I am very happy with the result. Now I just need 5 more.

Sturdy, pay attention to the directions!! Had to take it apart halfway through assembly

Wanted to separate my non-fiction from my fiction for awhile but I was having problems finding the perfect solution until I stumbled upon these shelves!!! Did some of the pieces not fit together perfectly? Sure, especially the side pieces. Was I still ok with that because they fit my space PERFECTLY and are very beautiful on top of that? ABSOLUTELY! I measured my space so many times and I was so nervous the listed measurements wouldn’t be accurate but I had measured and had 6” of play so I figured I at least had a cushion and if worse came to worse I’d have a leftover shelf to put somewhere else. No cushion measurement needed, they were so precise I had exactly the 6” of space left!!! Even my husband was impressed 😂 I will say putting these together was a bit of a workout but I did have five of them. I eventually figured out putting all the sides together first, then just placing boards and screws in just to hold then going down each side to tighten, then putting the back X pieces in worked the best if you’re doing multiple units. Instructions were spot on and I really liked that each top shelf already had a hole in for the stability screw (since these were for books and I have cats I definitely needed to use them). For the price you absolutely can’t beat these, I am in LOVE!!! Cat for size reference 😂
