I recently stocked up on the Merrimen Strong Heavy Duty Brown Packaging Tape, and it has been surprisingly solid. The adhesive is strong enough to seal heavy boxes without worrying about them coming apart, and the rolls are wide and long enough to handle multiple packages without constantly swapping tape. I used it for moving a few heavier items, and the tape held up perfectly — no peeling, no lifting corners. It also tears cleanly when using a tape dispenser, which makes packing faster and less frustrating. My only minor gripe is that the tape can sometimes stick to itself when unrolling, which is a small annoyance, but it’s easy to manage. Overall, it’s dependable, practical, and well worth having on hand if you ship or pack items regularly.

I have been unable to find rolls of brown packing tape for some time, and needed to buy a small roll with a built-in cutter. This worked well,l but was very expensive for the small amount of tape attached. Imagine my delight to now find a pack of 3 giant rolls at a bargain price. The tape is easy to use, sticks well and provides a very secure fastening.

Cheap tape and it shows when you try and find the start of the roll. You end up spending time trying to find the start of the roll and when you do it can unroll unevenly tearing due to it being really thin. Yes it was cheap but honestly its a bit annoying and I have 4 rolls of the stuff. I would not buy it again.

Picked up a roll pack of this during a house move when I'd already burned through a couple of cheaper tapes that were tearing inconsistently and not adhering properly to the box seams under any real tension. At that point in a move the last thing you want is second guessing whether a box is actually sealed. The difference was noticeable straight away. The tape applies cleanly, sticks firmly on the first pass and doesn't require multiple layers over the same seam to feel secure. On heavily loaded boxes that were going to be lifted and stacked repeatedly it held without any lifting at the edges or peeling back, which had been the failure point of what I'd been using before. The roll pack format made sense for the volume needed. Having multiple rolls meant no interruptions mid session hunting for where the tape had ended up and no rationing to make a single roll last. For anyone doing a full house move or regular despatch work the pack quantity earns its keep. Tear by hand is reasonable without being effortless, a dispenser makes the whole process quicker and cleaner if you have one to hand. Without a dispenser it's manageable but the tape has enough body to it that finding the edge again after each tear takes a moment. The brown finish is clean and consistent across the roll without the thin patches or uneven coating that sometimes shows up on budget tape. Drops just short of five stars because the core can loosen slightly in the roll over time making dispensing a little uneven towards the end, a minor point but noticeable. Solid, dependable packing tape that justifies the modest step up from the cheapest available option.
