Buddy Gooseneck microphones are in use throughout the US, Canada and Europe by customers with disabilities. When used in conjunction with speech recognition software such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking or Microsoft Speech Recognition, the high level of clarity and accuracy allows people with mobility or dexterity issues to easily control the computer or dictate using only their voice. Many disabled customers and their families appreciate the freedom and mobility that the Buddy Gooseneck can help provide. Microphone Element Includes a unidirectional microphone element to provide clear audio signal from 1″ to 9″ range from the front of the element yet providing a speech signal comparable to headset microphones. This yields extremely high recognition accuracy in the high nineties with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, which is comparable to good quality headsets. Review: Flexible and good microphone, recommended - So far in one month of use, it works great, is easy to fit into a backpack, and secures to the counters that I have at work. It connects to the PC or Mac via a USB adapter which is a separate piece but comes with the microphone, and the microphone is the old style analog plug in. The USB adapter can accept any microphone. The neck is quite flexible and takes up no space on the counter, which is very convenient. It is about a 4 foot or so neck so it is quite flexible. Accuracy is fine with decent but not excellent background noise reduction. Review: Very useful form factor - Idea = 5 star Execution = 2 star....actually 1star, when you consider the $200 price tag! Very useful form factor, I have one at home and at work, however, the one at work stopped working and when I bought a new one the gooseneck was not nearly as stiff as the previous 2 I had purchased – i.e., it is too limp.

Very useful form factor

That's a lot of money, but it's worth it. Excellent microphone. I use it both at work and at home. I have to use DragonDictate to work because of my lack of dexterity, same with doing stuff on the computer at home, but can use a mouse, so a good microphone is imperative.

Dissappointment
Other Buddy microphones have worked very well with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but this version has been a real disappointment. It may be because it's not a true USB product, but rather uses a converter to become USB-capable. In in case, it has been a real disappointment. I am a big fan of the Buddy desktop style microphone, which is truly wired for USB.

broken/weak gooseneck that does not hold position
Not as before. Flimsy and do noy stay in place against gravity. I want my money back. Shame on you selling a broken weak gooseneck!

they love this thing... they have tried many alternatives for dragon naturally speaking and this is the only one they like... used in an office with many loud noises without any issues

Works great!
We got this product to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking. It is so much more accurate than using the headphones and microphone that came with Dragon.
