Life changing - great experience for 2 cats
I’ve had this for one month and it’s been life changing so far. It is quite expensive, but I have two male cats that use the litter A LOT and this was the best decision ever. Gives me a week without having to clean it apart from the occasional stool that gets stuck on the silicone side and I just help it unstuck to be pushed down. But no more daily cleaning large scoops! No smell so far, very safe for them as it doesn’t close, and they used it immediately with no issues. I thought we may needed a step for our 7 month old but didn’t. After a few days it learned whether each cat was pooping or peeing and this is a great information to have. Very helpful if we’re travelling and whoever is coming to check on them doesn’t have to scoop everyday, just check if everything is ok with the machine. Negatives I can live with: Doesn’t work as well using tofu litter but works good enough. The sensor of amount of litter available isn’t great, sometimes says it’s low when it’s not and the other way around, but I keep an eye on it.

I have had this litter box for 20 months now. With a pride of cats I really needed to try out a self cleaning box as I have several boxes in my house. This box is easy to set up and works great. As long as you clean the waste bag weekly, you should not have any odors. I also wipe the inside and outer parts with a disinfecting wipe to keep it looking new! I have called the help line one time and have been impressed with the quick reply. I would recommend this cat litter box.

I have had this litter bot for more than a year now and it has been working wonderfully for my 1 cat! I’m very satisfied with it! --------------- PROS: - Many self-cleaning options: You can set it to automatically clean every x amount of time, or x amount of time after your cat went, or manual if you’re scared of your cat getting stuck. There’s also an empty option to empty out the soiled litter to clean out the robot. - Good Sensor: I tested by putting my foot where the tray and dome meet when it’s cleaning and it was able to detect my feet even when the machine barely touched it! It also backed out when it detected it hit something. I think it also detects when a cat is peeking into it as well since I noticed it stopped when my cat pokes his head a bit far to look inside. - Easy to Clean: It’s very easy to take apart to clean the dome. The top hood and the base can’t be sprayed with water according to the manual, so you can just wipe those down. - App tracking: The app can tell you when the tray is full, when filter needs replacement, when litter needs replacement, when your cat pooped/peed, your cat’s weight, and the environment in the litter box. It can also detect multiple cats but I only have 1 so not too sure about that. - No Smell: It significantly decreased the smell when compared to my old open litter box! It still depends greatly on the quality of your litter though, as I bought cheaper litter and it smelled. - Cat Approved: it was very easy for my cat to transition into using this litter robot! Might depend on the cat though. CONS: - Hard to move around/carry: If you need to move this around, it will be very hard because of its round shape. It’s difficult to move it around without it tipping or falling. This is probably a 2 person item. - App tracking can be misleading at times: I noticed that sometimes it showed him peed when he actually pooped, and pooped when he actually peed… so I don’t think I would trust this too much, but the rest seems accurate. - Big & bulky: It’s pretty big and I sometimes move between houses along with my cat, so sometimes I wished I got a smaller one so I can put it in my car. But that’s alright, since I bought a regular closed litter box to move around when I’m away from my main place. - Litter can get stuck on the ceiling & crevices inside the robot: This happens when it spins, and it also has some screws in there that I noticed can be a soiled litter magnet. I would recommend cleaning the dome by itself with a hose every few weeks to prevent this. - May require stairs for the cat: I feel like the entrance is a little high up, so This is probably not ideal for older cats unless you buy them the stairs. My cat is not old but I bought him a stepping stool to help, which is a lot more affordable than the brand’s stairs. --------------- The cons I listed weren’t particularly deal breakers for me since I mostly cared about how it cleans and its safety features for my cat! Tips: It was easy for my cat to transition to the new litter robot, but here are some tips. I put his old litter into the new robot so it has his scent on it. I put it where his old litter box was. I also carried him to it and placed him inside to smell it. Lastly, I sat with him while he was looking at it when it’s cleaning so he knows that it’s harmless. Overall, I would 100% recommend this self-cleaning litter robot!

Was sceptical if buying one cause there's so many brands and most have issues. I've had this one for a couple weeks. It's great! Let me go into detail... For starters out of the box it's very simple and straightforward. The only thing that you have to keep mind of is if your WiFi. It needs a 2.4GHz band to connect properly. Most people experience issues setting up here and it is a little finicky getting it to connect but once you do the rest is history. As far as orders and cleanliness go is amazing. I've noticed no smells since I've got it and you only have to clean it a little every time you empty the waste bin. I have one large cart and I'd say once a week it fills up. The bin itself is large but the waste doesn't distribute the best. Sometimes just shaking it will settle and you can get the most out of one bag. For the material and design... It's mostly made of plastic and where the litter sits is actually rubber. I've noticed over time stuff does stick to the rubber and the walls but some lysol wipes and paper towels get it fine. It truly works as designed and you can use clay and pellet litters. The sensors work great sometimes my cat just likes to see what's going on and it'll stop while he checks it out and resume cleaning when he leaves. Only once I ran into an issue where the grate that sifts the litter feel off and caused the machine to stop. It didn't cause any damage and it informed me on the app. The app is surprisingly well put together and user friendly. I thought considering how many automatic cat litter boxes there are on the market I figured the apps probably lack real structure, utility, and ease of use but I was rather taken back. It works great and the controls are very straightforward. The weight sensor is accurate and can even tell you the cats weight. Overall I'd recommend and buy again especially if it's on sale. I bought it for four hundred.

We ended up purchased two of these - first one to see the cats would use it (they love it) and then another since we have more than one cat (we're cat-people!). After about 18 months, one of started spinning around without stop, but the CatLink site had very helpful videos to diagnose the problem. I contacted Customer Service and they responded promptly and personably, which was surprise since I usually expect templated responses. After some clarifying questions, and one phone call to a real human (who was also very affable and reassuring) the CS crew eventually got approval to send me a new "Hall Board." While I was ready to take everything apart, when the part arrive it was a new scooper base! Within a few minutes, the cat litter box was back in action and the kitten promptly used it while connecting it to the network... Two thumbs way up, and a lot of cat paws up as well! The other box has worked flawlessly, and make my weekly chores just that much easier...

I've used many different automatic litter boxes: Litter Robot 2 - Used this for the longest time with very few issues. Maybe 5 years? Drawback was this was barely a smart litter box. It was automatic, but the absence of an app to notify of a cycle error or anything became a problem. Over those five years I slowly evolved to where I didn't check the litter box every day because it mostly just worked. There were a couple issues over those five years where an error had occurred and the poor cats had no accessible litter box. Also without an app there's no way to confirm its working when I was traveling. Not ideal if you're gone for a week . When we moved into a larger house and the litter box had its own out of the way space, I figured it was time to upgrade to something I could link to my smartphone. Litter Robot 3 - Had issues with this from day one. I had sensor issues and weight issues and the whole package of horror stories people share about this box. Support was accessible and attentive and they sent me parts to fix it and walked me through on the phone how to install/replace the parts. So I got it working and kept using it. I started using crystal litter with it (after trimming the filter holes so it wouldn't throw out the good crystals each cycle) and the experience improved a lot. It'd last for a very long time between needing changes as long as the box would cycle and let the litter air out to dry. The issue was my small cat who has softer stools needs more time for the crystal litter to dry it out. This box didn't allow setting the cycle timing for 30 min, max was 15. So I started looking for a way to cycle it periodically. There's an API so that's not impossible but my time is more valuable than my money at these levels so I figured I'd think about trying something new out. I also had a minor complaint about the seal on the globe. it would seem to leak litter into the gears which would crunch it up into a fine dust that coated everything in the room. Then a few weeks into my search the box failed entirely and wouldn't cycle. Another sensor error. This was probably the 2yr mark. PetSafe ScoopFree - Bought this box cuz it was cheap and I wanted a gap filler to do the work for me while I did my homework on the next attempt. I LOVE crystal litter. Getting rid of the globe function eliminated the dust and also had zero tracking with the mats I use. So I ended up using this placeholder box for probably two years. Its also easy to tell a cat sitter how to change it. Just cut the plastic off the new box, dump the new litter in it, swap it for the old one and throw the old box out. However, with two cats the liquid would build up enough by about day four/five that one of the cats would start peeing in random places. I need 7 days of reliable accident free minimum. So for now, I'm cleaning this one out more often than I want to and I still use it because its the gap filler I continue to use 2yrs in while I search for something better. PetKit Max - Used it for two weeks before returning it. Seemingly an excellent litter box. HOWEVER, the emptying process is prohibitively difficult and not obvious until you actually have the box. In contrast with the litter robot's "empty" function you have to lift this globe off and manually dump it in a trash can. Not the kind of litter box you can leave simple instructions for a cat sitter for. Unfortunately this is not something that can be improved on with the other design improvement they made which was moving the waste drawer to the side in a thing that can be sealed. Great idea here, just need to decide if you want the good waste drawer or an easy to empty globe. I also had repeated problems in the two weeks I used it with finding pee in the base under the globe. That was the real deal breaker. The fact that it wasn't every single day makes me think a cat was peeing in a way that was somehow missing the box or on a seam inside the globe or something, though I never found any evidence of pee spray or streak marks or leaks or anything. My largest cat is a medium framed 14 pounds so if he doesn't fit then I'd think a ton of cats would have trouble making sure there were no leaks. So it's going back. if you have tiny cats who pee straight down into the relatively small round litter bed of these globe boxes and you don't mind the emptying/cleaning process being much more difficult then this is probably the best box of the bunch so far. Catlink Luxury Pro - The box had a very small number of seemingly good reviews so I figured I'd give that a try. It has been an unmitigated disaster. The box showed up and THEN I see the fine print in the listing description that says my wifi network has to only have letters and numbers. Annoying, but ok I'll set you up your own special litterbox network. Then the app says it requires the ability to make phone calls. What on earth do I need my litter box to make phone calls for? I'm five models and four manufacturers deep in my almost decade long hunt for a perfect litter box and not one single other automatic litter box has ever tried to make phone calls before. Fine, more annoying, but my time is valuable and I'm dreading packing it back up and shipping it back so I'll stay the course. After jumping through all these hoops I follow the directions to connect to the brand new specially formatted network I set up for it...no joy. Troubleshooting says it should beep 3 times, then pause, then beep once and voila its connected. I got that beep pattern...along with an error in the app that said it's not connected. Can't get past the error. Can't restart the app and have it check if a prior setup had worked....funnels you into resetting the box and starting setup over. So I did that, twice more, same outcome both times. Then I close the phone app again and try to reset everything and the app says I need to re-log in. When I try to log in, it says my account I setup the first time around doesn't exist. Ok try to create a new account.....except when I put my phone number in it says I already created the account. You really can't make this stuff up. So I thought I'd sleep on it and try again in the morning with some restored patience. Next morning, I moved it to my desk so I could at least get other work done while I waited for the slow steps in the process. Plan is to reset everything, make a new account with another cell number....what a pain. Plug it in...error in the initial cycle it does before you can even hit the buttons to set up the wifi. AAAAAAANd you're going back in the box. This thing never even saw any litter....don't waste your time.
