Review: I ordered this book for my soon to be 6th grader to help him understand the relevancy of math to every day life. Needless to say, he's not fond of math. We have had this book for 3 weeks and he actually looks forward to his "surprise" word problem. The problems are simple and make sense thus, causing him to practice problem solving techniques and mathematical equations. Each problem has a "work" space and an answer line; this way, my son showas his work and has to write the final answer. An example : Monday there were 92 fish in a tank, 4 were sold on Tues, 1 added on Wed, and 3 sold on Fri. How many fish are left? So far, this book has kept it's promise and it is helping build my son's confidence working independently. Review: This helped my youngest with the break through he needed to understand practical math. It was simple, and fun to see him get excited about something he previously hated.
