Would this protect you from smaller particulates?

Hey, thanks for the question. Yes, the material is made from a compressed foam. It works well against most fine dust particles found on a construction site like dust from sheetrock/plaster sanding. As long as the particles are not much smaller than this type of dust, you're okay. What type of dust did you specifically have in mind?

Can you wear these under a mask?

I suppose you could but I find it a little hard to breathe when wearing them and then adding a mask I think would even make it worse.

You put that this product has a niosh rating of 8. what does that mean? 80% or 8%? how does that compare to an n95 niosh approved mask?

We are aware that there is an incorrect customer answer stating that this product is NIOSH-approved and we are reaching out to Amazon to try to have this removed immediately. There’s dust lingering everywhere, so I bought these because I wanted to have protection but not a mask over my face because that’s uncomfortable and it makes me sweat. The nose plugs stayed in and they’re quite comfortable. As you can tell from the pictures, they do capture the dust. They’re worth trying out. (The second picture was after using the plugs for 9 hours.)

Very bad product. It's too costly. It's one time use and throw product. Only 10 pieces are given..very cheap..just small pieces of sponge. It's not worthy even for rs. 50/- and when I tried to return its found non refundable...don't buy

These are great for occasional light carpentry work- definitely not for someone who is doing it all day everyday. I bought them for my partner and he loves them for when he’s messing around with stuff in his work shed. They are pretty comfortable according to him and you can see just how much stuff they keep out of your nose!
