Fits great, works great
This drive converter solves a big problem of mine. All my RAID arrays are outfitted with trayless 3.5" bays so incorporating 2.5" SSDs poses a major logistical problem. Even though a previous review reported poor fit, I bought one anyway just to test it out. Happily the SSDs fit perfectly into this converter, which in turn fit perfectly into the 3.5" bays. I've tested with about 2-dozen insertions into different bays, and the drive has fired up every single time. I've confirmed SATA III 6Gb/s operating speeds through the converter. The big advantage of these converters is they allow air circulation across the SSD. All the trayless 3.5" bays have rear-mounted fans that draw air from front to back, and these converters are designed in such a way as to make good use of this cooling air. This a big relief because even though SSDs (and regular 2.5" drives) are low-power, they can still generate enough heat in an enclosed space to cause damage. Out of curiosity, I tried fitting the converter into an internal 3.5" bay, and the holes were indeed a tad bit off (enough to have to break out a drill). Still more curious, I scrounged around and found 3 old cases with 3.5" floppy bays. Voila. The holes aligned perfectly and the fit was spot on. I guess the lesson here is if you're drill-challenged, find an old case with a 3.5" floppy bay. I like these converters so much, I'm buying a bunch more. Oh, one more thing, inserting and removing drives into the converter can get kind of sticky. It takes patience and gentle rocking motions.

Not a "Drive Converter", Just an overpriced drive cage adaptor.
While it is advertised as for SAS drives, putting one in it was not only difficult, but caused the drive to become stuck and took me some time to get it back out. On top of that, the SAS drive was not even recognized as a drive while in the cage. It did recognize a SATA drive, which also was very difficult to get back out, making this more of a size converter, to change 2.5" to 3.5" for more "permanent" installations. I would not recommend this, however. You can get much more cost effective conversion items. Overall, this was a waste of time and money, but maybe I can find a use for it in some other application in the future.

Not the Best it Could Be - DOA
Ordered this to help wipe some 2.5" SAS HDD's via a dock. Out of 6 different vendor disks and both slots of the dock and 3 different pc's, this thing never worked.Disks were HGST, Seagate, Toshiba and WD (of course, we know the vendor/branding). But, 6 different disks? It should have seen one.... Just to be sure, tested the dock and it works well. Loaded 3 HDD's WD 1tb, WD 500gb and Toshiba 3tb. Saw all three, so the only hiccup is loading HDD's into this carrier. Most likely a bad one, but only a month on returns and just didn't get to that window in time. Luckily, I expensed it, so not much harm there, but on the good side, I have a $15 paperweight!!

a bit cheap in materials
bought this because it was a toolless adapter that made the connectors of a 2.5" sata drive line up with a 3.5" setup(so many don't ensure the alignment so you can install 2.5" drives in a hot-swap 3.5" bay) the system is a tad cheap in design as the door latch is very cheap and I am suprised I have not actually broken it yet, but for the parts that matter they did good, it slides in any 2.5" sata drive and makes it look like a plastic 3.5" sata drive in all dimensions that matter, it includes a "drive connected" light that uses the activity pin and is kinda useless(they didn't make it react to changes of that pin) but other than quirks like that it is perfect for putting 2.5" drives into a 3.5" hot-swap type tray

Best thing smoking for adding a extra HD
So I used this inside another bin assembly that held a Ultra slimm 9.5mm dvd drive on top and had a 3.5" opening beneath that would fit in the 5.25" single CD drive opening on my AKAI MPC 4000 se. I popped this beneath the DVD drive fit absolutely perfect and then I slapped a 1TB SATA HD inside it and done worked absolutely perfectly. An best thing is to remove HD simply open door and it ejects the HD just slightly so that when door is fully opened its hanging out about a half inch to just pick up and go and to connect HD back to in my case the MPC you simply lay the HD back in the slot slide in about 75% and as you close the door it has an internal mechanism that reattaches the HD to the system. So far now I've purchased about 6 or 7 of these for my own hardware and making kits to resell to other musicians not so tech savvy and just want it done so they start making beats.lol but 👍👍 up is what I give it for durable construction and how well it works.

Does not work for HP SFF-type desktops
I purchased this converter to allow a 2.5" SSD to be installed into an HP 6000 Pro SFF desktop. For the HP SFF-type desktops, the HDD sits in a small area under the power supply, and is locked in using slot screws that are normally inserted in the two screw holes that are on the side of the drive, closest to the front and back (the off-center holes are not used). Although the SSD slid nicely into the converter and locked in place once the door is clipped shut, I then found that the screw holes on the side of the converter do not match up with the screw holes on the side of a standard 3.5" HDD. The holes closest to the front do match up, but the off-center and rear ones do not match up. Also, when I went to try and screw in the HDD slot screws that are needed to slide an HDD (or in this case the converter) into the HDD space, I found that the threaded holes in the converter are so short that you cannot screw them in. I ended up tightening the front slot screw on each side and was still able to slide the converter into the HDD space, but there are no back slot screws to keep the converter tightly in place. I do not recommend this converter specifically because the screw holes on the side of the converter do not match up with the standard screw holes on the side of a 3.5" HDD.

Convenient and works as it should.
When I travel for security I take my drive (2.5" SSD) with me. This conveniently allows me to remove the drive from my computer without taking the computer apart, just open the door on the front and pull the drive out.

Doesn’t work as said in product details

Works great, I initially bought it to take apart to adapt SAS drives to SATA, but the drive I used didn't like that. After taking it apart and putting back together I realized how intricate the case is; - It has an 'eject' feature where you open the door and it pulls the drive out for you from the connecting side - though I personally feel like that might break at some point if you're not too careful, but the feature is nice. - Has a drop-down thing where it protects the inner connector a bit from, I would believe, dust or whatever.

I must say, I've been after something like this for quite sometime, and when I came across it on Amazon at this price, I HAD to buy it! I have more 2.5" HDD's and SSD's lying around from old laptop's than I'd care to mention, so this was a real game changer for me. To be able to quickly and conveniently swap out one HDD for another in just a few seconds is great!. It's saving me a lot of time too and certainly beats the old method of lugging a big and heavy Full ATX tower off the floor and putting it onto a desk to swap out a HDD/SSD internally!

The product description is wrong as it does not support for sas ssd disks. Tried multiple times but the system did not detect the new disk. So had to return.

Questo Dock è un "adattatore" che permette di collegare le unità SAS da 2.5" ai connettori SATA sulla Scheda Madre, tuttavia come Dock per cambiare velocemente un'unità HDD/SSD da un computer funziona benissimo. Sul sito viene confermata la compatibilità con le unità SAS a patto che queste supportino i controller SATA ma non vengono elencati modelli compatibili: "Although mobile racks can enable a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drive to connect using a standard Serial ATA (SATA) connector, the hard drive controller must be SAS compatible to properly support SAS drives. SAS controllers can work with SAS and SATA drives, but most SAS drives will only work with a SAS controller."
