Fox 40 Classic CMG (Cushioned Mouth Grip), Blue

Three of my kids have been lifeguards for many years (the youngest plans to be one, too), and they’ve tried several other brands and models of whistles, but this is by far their favorite, most reliable, and most durable. It’s become their “go-to” whistle so it’s the only kind they’ll buy each time they want to replace their whistle. They love the color options, the size is perfect, it’s easy to use, and the functionality allows them to easily whistle the correct signals for management to know what they need. Will continue to purchase and won’t buy another kind unless this someday becomes unavailable.

Coach of over 20 years. This is by far the best whistle, ever. I used to think all whistles were the same, just get one for a buck, that's all you need. Then I tried the Fox 40. Complete game changer.

spectacular whistle. i know it’s widely popular in my pool of lifeguard coworkers. it’s really loud when you need it to be, and the rubber barrier is extremely helpful especially to anyone who chews on their whistles. any reviewer saying the whistle is “defective” is confused. there is a specific technic when blowing the whistle to actually make it whistle properly. you have to stick your tongue in the open area of the whistle and quickly remove it as you blow, which will create a loud whistle. it’s all about the technique, there is no ball in the whistle, and that’s because it isn’t necessary.

Great whistle for those who bite down on their whistle. I have a tendency to clench my jaw and bite on my whistle -- I was getting sore front teeth because of this. I have tried silicone and rubber whistle guards, but they are getting increasingly hard to find and, they often taste gross. This whistle was a great solution. The only complaint I have is that there was a bit of "flash" on the interior part of the whistle that my tongue would catch on. I had to file it down a bit to smooth it out.

Purchased to use during rugby practices. My co-coach suggested this brand. I'm a fan, girls I coach probably aren't. Ultimately it is a great lightweight whistle that I sometimes forget is there. Will purchase again if necessary.

Good value for the money, plenty loud.

I tried it a few times inside the house. It has a fine sound that can be heard at a distance. It's a different sound from the silver whistle tht I'm used to hearing. All in all pple can hear it at a distance. It's great it comes with an international code Depending on the number of times frm 1-3 the whistle is blown/ each blast has a different meaning.

you just have to blow your lungs out to produce that piercing loud whistle. haven't tried if it can be heard from a mile away. would probably get another one, but just like my wife said,"7 bucks for a whistle?" guess the cushy mouth piece make it more expensive.
