Ive had my NES since 1986, and over the years its gotten worse and worse, requiring more blowing and taking lots of time to align the cartridge just right, only to have it crash partway through my game.Enough is enough! I bought this, it arrived quickly and well packaged, and with a little effort, was installed in my NES; took about 20 minutes.I popped in The Legend of Zelda and first try it lit up and played flawlessly for my whole session; about 2 hours.Also, after some examination of the old adapter, I think leaving games in the NES after you're done playing them might be detrimental to the connector causing this problem.My advice if your NES is finicky, get this adapter and dont leave your games in there after you're done playing.Ill come back and update this if something changes, but literally first try it worked perfectly.

Honestly I wasn't even going to use this, but only as a back up. But after the original acted up, I felt this was quality and decided to install it. Quite happy I did. For a Chinese product, it is very good Even though I still felt this had kind of rough feel to it, it works very well.

Works well overall, however the pins are tighter than factory oem. Sometimes to get games to play you need to play with cartrige up in loader rather than fully down. Might loosen up with use.

I've had my NES since 1991 and other than some discoloration it's in really good condition. However, after years of having a game inserted and pressed down, it had a lot of trouble reading games. I read about the problem and realized that instead of constantly trying to clean or blow in the games, all I had to do was replace the cartridge port. The replacement was super easy and took less than 15 minutes. No soldering or wiring required. The old one literally slides out, and the new one slides in. The longest part was just removing and reinstalling the screws. The only tool required was a phillip's head screwdriver. The included tool seemed to be decent quality, but wasn't necessary. Maybe because my NES was a later revision it didn't use any screws other than phillips. Either way, it was nice that it was included. After I installed this and screwed everything back together, I tested a game I new worked fine... of course it worked exactly as it should. Then, I grabbed a game that I constantly had issues with. I inserted it without any cleaning or blowing into the cartridge or Nintendo and it started up perfectly first time. I was so excited I went through and tested several games that I had problems with, and they all worked great. After sitting in my game room and playing way too many NES games, I came straight back to Amazon to review this connector. My NES works better than ever and I couldn't be happier with it.
