Polycab Hohm Lanre Wi-Fi 16 A Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring-Suitable for High Power Large Appliances like Geysers,Microwave Ovens,AC (Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant) (Pack of 1)

Summary:I bought Polycab Hohm Lanre 16A Wi-Fi Smart Plug to monitor the energy consumption of some devices. The wifi and smart functions of remote start-stop and schedule work fine and the energy consumption monitor is most accurate.I had initially tried the Wipro 16A Wi-Fi Smart Plug which gave inaccurate energy consumption reading and I finally settled with Polycab after some tests which ensured that Polycab gave accurate reading over Wipro.Details on tests performed:I have tested the Wipro 16A Wi-Fi Smart Plug and Polycab Hohm Lanre 16A Wi-Fi Smart Plug on a Meco Powerguard which is highly reliable and have excellent accuracy.I have used an Iron to test the power consumption readings.Results of Polycab:Please refer to the images attached. As you can see in the Smart Plug App the power is reported as 963.17 W (image 1), voltage as 237 V (image 2) and current as 4037 mA (image 3). On Powerguard it is 964.5 W, 238.39, and 4046 mA respectively.The readings are almost matching.Results of WiproPlease refer to the images attached. As you can see in the Smart Plug App the power is reported as 896.8 W (image 4), voltage as 235.2 V (image 5) and current as 3794 mA (image 6) whereas in the Powerguard it is 1009.19 W, 243.85, 4133 mA respectively.There is a significant difference in the readings.

What i liked is the rectangle shape than oval shape for many other smart device. Those are difficult to put on extension board . You cant connect the other plug easily with an oval shaped plug.Then the electricity used thru that plug can be measured just like wipro one. I connected thru smartlife app than installing different brand's app everytime. AVIGA plug also can be used thru smartlife. But no electric measure.Build quality is not best like Amazon plug (comes at a price & only alexa can be used with amazon plugs)But decent enough.I highly recommend one with electric measurement so that you know how much electricity you are wasting on your TV / Home theater experience or FAN usage :)You wont regret buying this

Now we have a smart plug from Polycab, a leading manufacturer of cables and wires. The functionality per se is no different from other brands that are available in the market except that it's only the second brand after Wipro that has energy monitoring feature in a 10A smart plug. Apart from that it also works with Smart Life app which has almost become a universal app for any smart product available in the market.But there are a couple of other things that are worth mentioning which make it very attractive for buying -1. The packing is the best I've seen so far (images attached).2. The price is the lowest among all leading brands.3. It is the only product that's rectangular in shape making it very compact. In fact the size is almost the same as any plug adapter.4. The size is so compact that it doesn't block the adjacent switch (image attached). Every other brand blocks at least one of the adjacent switches partially.Considering the above I give full marks for the product with a strong recommendation to buy.

I bought this product because of high recommendation. When I used it; it did not work on my AC. I tried other smart plugs of 16A and they worked. I got an electrician and after all the checks and called the customer care, the execs and a manager Rajendra from Polycab. All in vain. They kept pushing the dates of replacement and it is still the same. I still did not get a replacement. Please DONOT buy. I lost 2500/-

I am not sure of the accuracy. I went through the reviews of WIPRO and POLYCAB. People there said POLYCAB offers higher levels of accuracy.That being said, in terms of build quality, easy of use and interface I am very much happy with it

I used this wireless plug with my AC, but it didn’t work properly. When I tried to turn off the AC, it didn’t respond, and the mobile app showed 'no signal,' even though my Wi-Fi has a strong connection throughout the house. The product struggles to catch the signal, and I wouldn't recommend it. If you're using it near your Wi-Fi router, it might work, but for other areas, it doesn't seem reliable.

On recovery after power outage, defaults to last status - On if it was on when power failed, or vice versa. This makes the plug most suited if connecting to equipment such as coolers or home inverters. Most other smart-plugs default to OFF position when power returns after an outage. On other hand, if Internet is temporarily offline, it still operates the on/off schedule - internal memory stores time & schedule.Would have liked it better if it also provided option to change default setting. Maybe a firmware upgrade will be provided by Polycab-Hohm. Energy monitoring functions fine and the best part is that it connects with modern WiFi routers with dual WPA3/WPA2 security encryption. Some other wifi plugs cannot connect if WPA3/WPA2 security option is active - they force you to downgrade your router to WPA2 security only.

Quality product that works well. The app is well written and works reliably. It also supports trouble shooting the network connectivity to the smart plug. The app also supports firmware upgrade of the smart plug. Smart plug works even with long wifi passwords with special characters (many cheap IoT devices don't). Once the scheduled repeat on/off timers are configured, the smart plug turns on/off at the scheduled time even if the internet connection is down (it's a must have feature). Have not tested with Alexa/Google assistant. Overall a quality product from Polycab.
