Does this support data pass-through?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't want to test it with anything valuable because if the output gets set to higher than the device can handle, it will probably be destroyed. I've only used it for the selectable voltage output, and that's the typical use.

is there any mode to program custom voltage like 14.2V ?

I don't know about that part, but you can build the power supply and the voltage range.

When plugged into lenovo m90n (mini desktop), this flashes and stops working. Any help? Unit works with other sources.

Since the PD works with other sources, the problem has to be with the M90m. Try a different port on the computer.

Is this usb-C directional? I was about to return it because it didn't work, but then discovered that when I flipped over, it did?

The specification IS bidirectional. To take advantage of that, any cables you use, and any adapters, and any devices you plug into it will also need to be bidirectional. Another thing you might like to know, is your cable(s) must also be rated for the POWER you want to draw from your source. Power may be rated in Watts (usually) or in Amperes (Amps). Amps times Volts = Watts.
