Great sights for Steel Challenge
At 50, my eyes are not what they used to be and black on black irons just was not working for me anymore. As such, I replaced the sights on my mid-90’s era Ruger 22/45 with this sight set for rimfire steel challenge matches. The difference in visibility and sight pickup speed is incredible as they are just so much easier to see. Installing the sights was about as simple as you could hope for when it comes to changing pistol sights. The factory front sight is held in place with a single flat head screw and the rear sight leaf has an elevation screw and a single 1/16” pin. Remove the two screws (one in the front sight and one in the rear sight), tap out the pin and reinstall the new sights in the reverse order. Just remember to add a drop of blue Loctite to the front sight screw before putting it back in. From there, all it takes is a quick trip to the range to get the sights back on target.

Slightly tricky to install, but they work great!
I installed these myself on my Ruger MkII bull nosed 22. Find a high quality screwdriver that's a perfect match for the front sight screw so you don't ruin the screw. You have to push the little pin out in the rear sight. I used a very small allen wrench as a punch to push the pin out using a plastic faced hammer to bump it out. Don't lose the pin, and don't lose the little spring that pushes up on the upper part of the site. There are Youtube videos to show you how to do it right if you can't figure it out. I took it to the range, and right away my alignment left right was perfect and dead on center. I adjusted the rear sight in the vertical direction one or two clicks at a time until I was dead on in the vertical direction. Both my daughter and I were getting nice clusters in a nice little baseball sized spot in the bullseye area from about 15 yards out. Better than I was ever able to do with the stock black sights. The sights are much easier to see in the dim lighting of the indoor firing range. As far as I can tell so far, the quality is great. No problems whatsoever.

quality and affordable product
great sights and they fit the Ruger mark III great and out of the box were close to zero. they also fit my Ruger 22/45 perfectly but the front site is a bit long and has to be removed if you intend to use the factory scope mount. this is a bit of a hassle if you intend to take a scope on and off frequently but shaving a little off of the back end of the site fixed that problem and did not seem to effect the integrity of the site itself. i have used them under late dusk lighting and the optics pick up the light very well providing a clear sight picture in low light, perfect for small game hunting. I was also surprised to find out that they are the exact same manufacture and model that Ruger sales from their official website. My father ordered these sights straight from Ruger and wound up paying nearly $30 more.

A much needed upgrade to the Ruger Mk III
The brighter fiber sight is definitely a plus, but the more imortant part to me was having a finer sight line. The stock sights are too large and bulky and if you are aiming at a small target the sights would black out the target. At 20 yards the stock front site view was wider than a 12 oz can. These sights give a much finer sight line for better precision shooting. Installation was very easy. Precision screwdriver, small hammer, needle nose pliers, blue lock tight, and a jumbo paper clip (suggested by another reviewer). I cut a small piece of the paper clip to drive out the pin, worked like a charm. After reading the reviews I was careful not to loose the spring under the rear sight. It wasn’t difficult at all just something to pay attention to. Also mentioned by another reviewer be careful not to damage the screws when you remove them you re use them! Be sure to have a screwdriver that fits. Definitely money well spent!

Great sights but lightpipe might fall out.
As sights, this works very well. I often shoot at an indoor range with pretty minimal lighting and these function well for that. However, it seems that the light pipe, at least in the frontsight, is not firmly attached. It fell out within the first 500 or so rounds. I inquired with the vendor and they said to "melt it and it'll stick" This really does seem to be the regular advice. Anyway, I've tried super glue gel, which I'm hoping will work OK and be neater. Oh, and on that topic it seems one can buy lengths of replacement tubes (they're 0.06" diameter in this one) for under $20 inc shipping for five sticks 5.5" long each) so it's not a disaster.

Great for aging eyes, and easy to install...
Perfect for aging eyes...picks up enough light to "glow" even on cloudy days. Installation on my Mk. II (yes, it fits perfectly) was a snap. Have well-fitting screwdriver blades to avoid buggering up the original screws, which you will reuse. Have some medium grade Loctite for reinstallation of the front sight screw, and clean the screw and tapped hole in the barrel very well with alcohol or preferably, acetone before installing the new sight. Only a VERY small quantity of Loctite should be applied to the screw and hole (toothpick is ideal) before tightening the screw. On the rear sight, run the elevation screw up until it disengages the threads. CAREFULLY drive out the pin on which the rear leaf pivots. This will be a smaller diameter pin than you are likely to have a punch for. A straight section of a jumbo paper clip will work beautifully, and the pin will drive out quite easily. CONTROL THE BLADE when the pin comes out. There is a fairly stiff but small diameter coil spring in a recess near the rear end of the sight leaf. Don't lose it. When you reinstall the new Williams leaf, a bit of gun grease on the spring and in its recess will help greatly in keeping it in place. Then, you are ready to re-zero. Great addition to any Ruger for field or informal target shooting!
