This review is for the Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless headphones bought for £124.97 in May 2017 with my own money. I clarify only to avoid confusion with the much cheaper Urbanite XL non-wireless which are half the list price but visually identical.Best headphones I've ever had are an old set of Sennheiser HD570s which are still going after many years due to Sennheiser's excellent parts supply service - this gives me confidence that these will also continue to be supported after more than a decade! They are beautifully constructed but not gaudy, the headband is finished in a denim-type material with a lightly padded underside and appears very durable. A lot of attention has been paid to the hinges (a weak point on so many headsets) which are constructed from aluminium and also seem to be pretty bombproof. I was initially concerned by the size of the ear pads - my preference has always been the 'over ear' type as these are described but the recess appears more in line with 'on ear' style. Once worn though it is apparent the pads do fit over the ear but in a way that also provides a good seal - combined with a closed back this allows for impressive bass. The sound for me is fantastic and exactly what I was looking for - good open soundstage and a well balanced sound. There is plenty of bass but it is not overpowering when the mids and highs are also well represented. I'm not an audiophile by any measure but I've been around long enough to know when something sounds good. I spend a vast amount of time with headphones on as I dislike making noise and do not have the space or money for a comparable speaker set up.These are my first Bluetooth headphones - I had been worried about sound quality but the Urbanite uses the latest standards and on comparing them both wirelessly and connected with the cable find it hard to tell the difference. The odd cut-out is an acceptable price to pay for the convenience of a wireless connection. The amplification is sufficient that they are easily driven by an iPhone without the need for additional amplification. They are also 'smart' enough to remember multiple devices and even switch between them automatically - for example I can be watching a film on the laptop but then play music on my phone and no re-pairing is needed, the same if you receive a phone call while listening to another source. I'm told the call quality is good by those I've spoken to over them.I really like the wireless controls which are invisible - you just touch/swipe the side of the right ear cup to play/pause/change volume and so on. It's maybe a touch (pun not intended) oversensitive at times but you get used to it. The wired option is via a high quality rubberised cable which locks in via a twist mechanism at the headphone end and terminates in a standard 3.5mm L-plug. The standard cable has a single button controller and microphone as well as a 'slide' volume controller - this is one of my few dislikes as the volume control feels very cheap. It moves far too easily and has too short a range of travel to offer any real adjustment past full volume and no volume. When connected with the cable the headset controls are disabled but there is the facility to use the headphones without amplification if the battery runs out. You can purchase separately dedicated iPhone/Android cables if needed, the single button is great for me as I can use them as a gaming headset with a PS4 controller - they don't get on with three-button cables and Sony still won't support Bluetooth Audio on the PlayStation. Gotta sell their own wireless headsets I suppose.Minus points - as above the volume control on the cable is pretty crappy. As others have mentioned the ear pads pull off rather easily if you are not careful and are a fiddle to get back on but at least you can replace them. All in all I love 'em and they are the first set of big phones I have actually worn out in public due to the massive battery life and understated appearance. Personally I'd die of embarrassment in a pair of brightly coloured Beats but then I'm in my forties - each to their own. Hopefully they are less attractive to muggers but I'd not wear them down any dark alleys. Would I pay £250 for them? Not sure, there is a lot of competition at that price point. However for the £125 I paid I really can't find fault.

extrem gute Akkulaufzeit, super Bequem, Touchinterface sehr intuitiv, Mikrofonfunktion super scheiße.

Excellent casque Sans fil
