I had about 30 TB of older drives that I could not fit into my newest computer. So I purchased this Hard Drive enclosure and installed them in it and connected it to my computer via USB3. SUPER EASY to install the hard drives. And SUPER EASY to connect to my computer. Now I have over 50 TB between my computer and my older hard drives.

This is a great enclosure BUT .... I use Backblaze for backup and that accesses the drives constantly, This causes the drives to get HOT and shuts down. Not sure this is a problem with the enclosure, its more an issue with the way Backblaze works.

This is the second Orico product I have brought --- both stopped working by the fourth time of turning on the devices. The first was a drive enclosure Model Number 6518CG2 (Bought from Newegg) The third or four time I use it is would mount the drive. Upon inspection, I discovered the case plastic hard a melt spot where the circuit is located. The second device (Bought on Amazon) a 5 Bay External Drive Enclosure Model NS500. On the third time of use the power switch completely collapsed and no longer toggles on and off. It appears as the switch mount to the case broke. Unfortunately, on both devices, the failures occurred just after the return date. So, if you are thinking of purchasing Orico products, do your due diligence and carefully make a informed decision. Update: The switch on the 5 bay enclosure was locked depressed all the way in when it first failed. It has now come unlocked, but is loose but, the button wobbles in the hole and works, mostly. Orico has reached out. I will be responding soon. Update 2: Received the replacement unit. The vendor was quick to respond. The new unit is working like it should. I am pleased with the vendor's response.

Easy to set up. Quiet. Provides convenient additional storage without RAID constraints. It's convenient for files that aren't required to be highly available or require advanced maintenance like backups, restorations and the like.
