This is my second bottle— lost the first one due to a car accident. Aside from that, this one will definitely last me another year at least. The grips make it easy to hold and I like how easy it is to clean the mouthpiece and straw. This color specifically doesn’t stain at the mouthpiece like certain other colors do. It holds over 2L which is perfect for my daily needs and more. The markings on the sides are of course worn out because of normal wear and tear but it’s not like I need it tbh. My only gripe is that if the bottle is accidentally on its side or flipped over, the water leaks from the air hole spot. (See 3rd pic). Which is even more annoying when the bottle is full and slightly tipped over. OTHER THAN THAT, great bottle.

Zulu products overall are a little more smart in design than most other water bottles I’ve found over the years—their openings are wider for better flow, the designs are better thought out, and cleaning them is far superior to more complex bottles. The Goals half-gallon is pretty decent for all-day indoor use, if a bit obnoxious in size for an office desk environment—but that just means less trips to the water cooler and bosses like that. It has a printed readout suggestion to show your hourly consumption rate, a nice comfortable silicone/rubber-like grip inside the handle to get your hand through, and the nozzle while flat regulates a nice smooth flow to pour or drink from. The larger handle is also on the side from the designed nozzle’s horizontal flow, making turning it over to pour into a glass or one’s mouth quite convenient, as it works for left and right handed individuals simply by placing the cap on 90 degrees opposite of the preferred hand and rotating 180 (if you get it wrong, just try it the opposite way and you’ll get it). It also has a reliable lock to prevent accidental pressings of the snap cover lid Zulu has perfected with other bottles (it also makes a satisfying soft pop when you press the cap release and it taps the lid handle). Cleaning is a snap as you can fit an average hand inside the lid to clean out messier or sticky drinks, and the handle is closed off to allow a more solid build when picking up the bottle—it won’t collapse over time like other with hollow handles). You’ll remember the mention of “indoor” bottle—that’s because this isn’t an insulated bottle and condensation in a warm environment (say an average summer’s day) will make the bottle sweat madly and melt any ice fairly easily from sun rays as the jugs are transparent. There is a sturdy handle on the side of the lid that you would think would be able to support the weight of a full bottle—unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Twice the tightly closed lid popped off when full, sending it crashing to the floor and spilling its contents (fortunately it was only water, but a quarter gallon or more flowed out before recovery). This handle should only be used when dealing with transporting volumes of half or less, but one mishap is enough to rely solely on the inlaid grip for transport (think gallons of milk). It lacks any sort of grip on the bottom of the base, but for carpets or desktops this shouldn’t be an issue. For those needing larger amounts of liquids or just want to save time from getting up a couple times, the Zulu Goals is still a solid choice, but would be best for those indoor users and can lift with the larger handle reliably. Overall, a solid product, but definitely needs improvement with the lid’s reliability to be picked up when full.

I purchased this in February 2025. It has been almost one year and they held up generally well with regular use. The markings are still displayed. The latches have not broken. The rubber on the handles has not frayed or peeled. The only issue I have had is that it leaks. When it tips over in my car, it always leaks. No matter how many times I ref fasten the lid or reposition the straw or any number of other things I have attempted to do to prevent it from leaking. And it’s not just a little bit… if you are able to keep these upright, then they are a great purchase.

I really loved this water bottle before I broke it. This is a great product if you have a set goal for your daily water intake. I used this while I was training for my first 10k. I would typically fill the water bottle with a ton of ice and it would keep somewhat cold throughout the day. It is a really big bottle so it is easy to clean. But it does not insulate as well as a metal water bottle would. Unfortunately as I was leaving my house I dropped the full bottle on the ground and it exploded all over the hallway. Pretty devastating to say the least. Seems that with the weight of the full water and ice was too much to be dropped on the ground. If you can avoid throwing the bottle around like I did I would say it is a pretty good deal for the price.
