The boil-and-bite process was straightforward, and it shaped well to my child’s teeth, offering a snug fit without being too tight. What we love most is that it doesn’t fall out during practice or games, and my child can still speak fairly clearly with it in big plus! It also comes in a variety of colors, which made it fun for them to pick their favorite. The included case is a nice touch for keeping it clean in their gym bag. My first attempt at a mouth-guard for my 7 y.o. grappler failed. It was by Sisu, a small one designed to be unintrusive: the entire mouth-guard was supposed to be molded. But after numerous, frustrating tries, we gave up. Molding it proved too difficult for her and me, despite my experience with mouth-guards. The Oral Mart has been much better. The fact that the mold-able polymer (pink) sits inside a hard "case" (white) made molding easier. There was one minor problem: In two attempts, her bite kept scraping the edge of the pink mold-able polymer in one spot, exposing the white case in a way that'd rub against her gums. But, like an Italian sculptor, I softened that one spot only, and adjusted it with a spoon (losing only a bit of the pink). After home testing, my kid said this mouth-guard fit great. Note: It doesn't stay put when she opens her mouth, like my mouth-guard (a Shock Doctor double) does. According to a friend, dentist, and fellow grappler, this is because kids' teeth have less surface area for mouth-guards to grip. Subsequently, this mouth-guard has held up well on the mat (drilling, sparring). And her dentist said it looks OK, too. Later, when my kid loses (gains) new teeth, I'll see how well it re-molds. Hopefully, it'll continue to work out, because it'll be nice to have finally found a mouth-guard, at a reasonable price (it was approx. $10 when I bought it), incl. a case.

Highly recommend this brand of mouth guard for kids in sports. My son has braces and orthodontic needs and the protection of this is great. He wears it for all sports, basketball, football, baseball, etc. No issues with molding and the customer service was excellent. We accidentally bought an adult guard for him because he was in between sizes and they send a youth size no charge. Although the mouthguard looks small before molding, I would recommend following the manufacturers recommendation on sizing for youth sizes.
