Simple to mount, just as per images and description

This is a great airlock, works perfect and does what an airlock should do. I only use these now, they are awesome.

A 3/8" hole is way too small and the grommet barely fits. A 7/16" hole let's the tip of the airlock wedge in, but not go all the way through. A half inch hole is the correct size for letting the stem of the airlock pass through. Also, don't forget to use a little bit of keg lube. Keg lube is silicone based, so it's better to use that then something that's petroleum based like petroleum jelly. Anyway, the airlocks are great, but minus one star for poor information. The seller should know better.

I make homemade wine and theses airlocks work great.

The air locks with this type of lid vent around the top of the air lock and out the bottom of the red cap. I have seen other reviews for similar ones where people were complaining about the caps not having holes in them. These do not need the holes in the top because they vent differently than the ones with clear caps. 2 of mine had very small holes in the bottom of the water reservoirs and would not hold water. But after a quick chat with the seller I had a replacement in a few days. I would recommend these air locks and the seller had great and quick customer support. The only thing I have noticed is the description and photos say to drill a 3/8" hole for the black rubber grommets. This is wrong, the inside diameter of the grommets is 3/8 for the air lock to slide in. You need to drill a 12mm hole in whatever lid you are using to fit the grommet properly.
