FRUIT & VEGETABLE PLAY SET

I got these for my 8 month old to play with while I'm in the kitchen cooking. Mostly right now he just likes to drool on/bang on things but he actually really enjoys these and I've seen him already (about 1 month later) starting to explore using them in different ways. They're all different so he has different "favorites" at different times. The material these are made out of is the BEST. It's like a wood composite that makes them extra durable. The detail is great--even inside each veggie is different where it is "cut" open. He even really likes the knife... which is creepy to see a kid crawling around with. xD I can see him using these far into the future for different purposes. Probably the older he gets he'll use them to put in his little shopping bag and actually cut them open--but that's why they're so brilliant. They have many wide ranging possibilities for kids--even if right now it's just for munching on. The only downside I see is that because he's so obsessed with drooling on things, I had to take the mushroom away for now. The velcro was getting saturated wet and kind of ruined and because the piece to piece connection of this particular veggie isn't as strong as the others, it wasn't staying together so well anymore and I didn't want the damage to be permanent.
