Sharpening knives has never been so easy before
My mother and I collect a ton of knives, though as far as sharpening them I’ve never really paid much attention to. I’ve noticed a ton of them beginning to be very dull, so I purchased this since I don’t like any of the other sharpening tools I have. Man it’s so easy to use, you can set your angle so easy and just get to work. Can sharpen quite a few knives quickly with this. The quality is great I was concerned about the magnet but it’s solid as heck I’ve had no issues with large knives or small knives. I highly recommend this product.

Great tool
Really enjoying using this sharpener and it works great. I could have spent more on a bigger more professional setup but for my purposes this does the trick just fine. It’s compact so it stores easy, quick to setup, and has smooth operation. Got all my knives nice and sharp fairly quick. Three things to make it better- the base could be a little heavier so it doesn’t rock as easy, the clamping system could be a little more secure, and to sharpen a larger knife you really should use a larger sharpener but it works if you sectionalize the knife. I’ll get a kit of use out of this thing.

Produces amazing edge and worth every penny!
I want to start this off with I have never manually sharpened any knives this way before in my life. I've always used electric pull through sharpeners or the HORL3 which is a premium rolling sharpener. First off, it just works but there are a couple small quirks you should address if you want perfection. The link below (amazon wouldn't let me post the review unless I removed the link) is to a video I watched (the entire thing, its long but worth it) before I bought this. I followed his "guide" to how to use this sharpener and within 2 hours I had 3 of my pocket knives with mirror finishes and razor sharp. The video is under a tube channel called "TheTerribleTen" Lets get the cons/misses out of the way: -The clamp that holds the knife does wobble when you pull/push the actual stones across the edge. It's cheap plastic and even though the guy in the video doesn't use one, you can buy or 3d print a brace that eliminates all of the wobble. He even links to "accessories" in his video description that you can get for this. I just 3d printed mine. -The size. It works amazing for your normal 2"-4" pocket knives. I have a cold steel SRK compact that is a 5" knife and it pushes the limits of the range of motion and the size of the actual stones for sharpening it. I was able to do it but I had to focus considerably more on making sure I was doing even strokes. -Lastly I REALLY wish it came with one more higher grit stone. Don't get me wrong, the edges I'm able to make are shaving the hair on my arms, slicing through parchment paper like its butter, but I want more! For this system to be the "Elite" it really needs to come with a 1200 grit also. For it to stop at 800 grit is a shame. Because of these "cons" I gave it 4/5 instead of 5 stars. It's not a perfect system but it's really close. And the price is a fraction (literally some systems are over $4k and do the same thing but just higher quality and no plastic) of other major brands. The Pros/greatness: - It's EASY! I can't maintain a consistent edge when trying to do manual whetstones.... I tried... I failed... and I don't have the time to sit there and learn that skill. I was up and running within 5 minutes of opening the box. I didn't read any of the instructions and just followed the guide from the video I linked above. - The edge it produces from 800 grit, with the ceramic honing stone, and the leather strop is wild. Having the 220 grit to be able to quickly reprofile 2 very old dull knives I had in the garage was amazing. - Because of the grit options and the setup, you are able to speed through knives that would take much much longer on a traditional whetstone. I know this was a long winded review but if you're like me, I had been shopping around for months trying to figure out what was best. For my pocket knives (and smaller paring knives in the kitchen), this thing takes the cake.

Easy to use. Highly effective and high value. You'll be happy with the results.
I came across this thing as a fluke and was intrigued. I had a Lansky years ago that I just could not get results with and I ended up giving it away and thought this was a retread. Conceptually it is the same. You lock the blade in place and the abrasives are guided, leading you to a consistent and clean edge. This entire set up is just easier to use. I added the lapping films and feathering adhesive and was very impressed with the results. I sharpened a PM2 with an S30V blade and a TAD Dauntless with an S35VN blade. The PM2 was a bit tougher to line up due to the blade shape, but once I realized the key was consistency, I locked it in and started at 20 degrees. From there I fine tuned the blade and took it through the ceramic stone and was very impressed with how well the knife cut. You develop a rhythm and technique and it does have a "feel" component. Once you feel a burr, flip the knife and do it again, hopefully near your first count of strokes but if you lose count, raise the burr on the other side and go to the next abrasive. It really is easy to use and the ceramic plate as the finest grit will be perfectly okay for most people. That will be the sharpest knife they've had or done themselves. If you want to go to the next level, using lapping film on the ceramic stone is easy and very effective. I took it to a 2500 grit and got a mirror polish on both the Dauntless and the PM2. The change in how the Dauntless performed was amazing. Using the films and adhesive on the ceramic stone is a great upgrade and very simple. A pack of the films is right around 4 bucks in the Wal-Mart automotive section, and I also bought as part of the package here. Not every edge will require a polish and the system is flexible enough to let you try some things with angles and varying grits on different parts of the blade. There are some things this sharpener is not designed to do. That said, for smaller blades, kitchen knives, EDC, etc., it is easy and effective. For larger blades, tools, scissors, and odd shaped blades, that is why you have multiple sharpening options, right? For some items you just can't beat free-handing on water stones, or the guided bench sharpener from work sharp, or even a Sharpmaker For the two knives I sharpened here though, and I did it right out of the box the day I got the sharpener, I've never put a polish on an edge that fast or that well. I also don't think I've ever made a blade edge that sharp. This is not a gimmick and it works well. ————-update 1 May I just finished a ZT 0562 CF with a CTS 204P blade and it put a very nice edge on. Setting the edge with the 320 grit plate took a while, and I relieved the shoulders using the 15 degree position before going to 20 degrees. Once done, using the 600 and ceramic took it to not-quite polished but much sharper than out of the box. Getting a burr took a few minutes but once It was raised, honing it down was easy. Very impressed with the performance on 204P.

Absolutely Outstanding Sharpen
This is hands down one of the best knife sharpeners I’ve ever used. I’ve tried whetstones in the past, and while I could get a knife “sharp,” I could never truly grasp maintaining the correct angle consistently. Because of that, my results were always hit or miss — sharp, but never this sharp. With this sharpener, the difference is night and day. The guided angle system takes all the guesswork out, and the results are honestly machine-sharp. I’ve never had pocket knives this sharp before. I actually have to be extra careful now, because the edge this puts on a blade is no joke. Even the V-block comes with an insert that literally says “You will be creating incredibly sharp knives. Please handle with care.” — and that ain’t no joke. Just following the system gives you a dangerously sharp edge. The process is simple, controlled, and repeatable. If you’ve struggled with whetstones or inconsistent results in the past, this completely solves that problem. Fantastic tool. Worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Super simple and fast sharpening
Makes sharpening knives super simple and fast. Love this device over traditional stones because I don’t have to guess the angle. I do wish that you could get a higher grit than 600 (or 800 with the extra kit) so you can really get a kitchen knife super razor sharp, but it works just fine for most applications as is.

For real the best sharpener on the planet.
Finally! Somebody made a knife sharpener worth buying. Holy crap this sharpens to razors edge. It has no problem with karambits, or other curved blades. This product works. I really hope they consider making a larger one for swords and large fixed blade knives. I'd buy it immediately. I can't recommend this product enough. If you are sick of burning money on cheap crappy sharpeners look no further because this thing is legit.

After a little practice, I got the sharpest edge I've ever seen!
I've had this system for about a week. I finally had some time to sit down and set ot up. It's extremely easy to setup, and has a great little case that everything fits neatly into. I glanced at the instructions, watched a fee YouTube videos, and got to work on a cheaper knife I've been trying to sharpen by hand for days to no avail. This knife wouldn't cut paper and was giving me a headache from trying to sharpen by hand. I started on the courses grit and finally got a burr after about 20 minutes. It was starting to give me another headache, but I kept at it. It takes a little time to figure out the technique and proper form. But, once you get it, it's amazing. I worked through every grit, and the strop. The edge almost had a mirror polish after my first attempt. It was getting late so I started rushing through some of the stones once I got the hang of it, or it would've had a real mirror polish. It is by far the sharpest knife I've ever held or sharpened. Blows away every factory edge ive ever felt, all 38. I have a few other systems, much cheaper, and not diamond stones either. One is more for touching up your edge. I have tried free hand sharpening quite a few time, and every time have ended up with a more dull knife than when I started (I'm still not giving up). It's very refreshing to know I can put a razor-sharp edge on any of my knives now. This system has everything you need and is easy to use. You get great results, and the price is very reasonable considering the costs of other fixed angle sharpeners. The build quality is great, the clamp hold the blade secure. The only thing I can recommend is a digital angle finder, got one for $25. Also, at first feel the stones didn't slide very smooth on the guide rod. So I put two drops of gun oil on the plastic where the rod touches and that greatly improved the feel when sliding the stones back and forth on the edge. Lastly wipe the blade between grits, and get an old toothbrush to clean the metal out of the stones to prevent cross contamination between grits. Also, I highly recommend watching some of work sharps YouTube videos and reading the comment section, thats where i heard about the oil and cross contamination. There are different techniques that can yield different results, work sharp has video on that. Overall for the price I'd go with the elite version, but I'm sure the basic would work great, except when it comes to the mirror polish.and final look. I'm am blown away and extremely happy to have a system that not only works, but works great!!
