Just invest in this camera. 10/10!
I cannot recommend this camera enough and here is why: First and foremost, I’m a Sony girl when it comes to photography. I made the swap from Canon to Sony in 2023 and will never look back. So when reading this, take into consideration I’m a huge fan of Sony. In 2023, I purchased the a7iii and LOVED IT. I had some issues with auto focus in lowlight situations. My only other complaint about the a7iii was the screen only tilted. Of course, I took advantage of the Black Friday deals last week and here we are! Product Breakdown: 1. Photo quality: WOW. All Sony seems to remain the same but the RAW photos (when you nail your manual settings) are incredible and unmatched. Also, keep in mind, I’m shooting in RAW format and not JPEG. This camera delivers CRISPY, sharp images. I can’t get over it. 2. Packaging: 10/10. Sony saved me with their packaging because the FedEx driver decided to throw my package on the porch and it was okay! 3. Functionality: This is by far not a beginner camera but when you learn Sony, it is not only doable but becomes muscle memory. I definitely recommend doing your research on Sony before switching if you’re thinking of swapping to this brand. I love the new and improved MP on this. You can definitely tell the difference. 4. Features: dual card option (w/ ability to write to two memory cards at once), built in high ISO noise reduction (have to turn it on), speed is on point, fully tilt and flip screen and amazing low light capability. Even with a Sony GM 24-70mm (F2.4). The grip seems to be a little bigger than the a7iii but nothing to worry about. Sleek body. Beautiful set up. Completely different menu than what I’m used to. 5. Value: I wish I would’ve purchased this camera sooner. Completely worth the money and the time it takes to learn a camera like this.

Blown Away
This is my first professional camera I’ve purchased. I’ve used the canon 5d a lot 10 years ago so I didn’t have expectations. I am amazed about all the versatility and functionality it has. For me being new and a beginner the ease of use was surprisingly great. The quality of the camera is fantastic and doesn’t feel like a lot of plastic like some do it feels like you just spent almost 3k on it. Great value. Battery life seems to be as expected but like all situations needing more as spare for long shoots is expected. The quality of the images straight out of the box is immaculate. The only thing I don’t like is the crop for 60-120p and I debated over it for months since I like shooting in 60 to slow down to 30 compared to like the Nikon z and canon r that’s comparable to this one. But the full frame is new to me and is stunning. Definitely a camera you’ll never want to get rid of

The Perfect Hybrid Camera for Photo and Video Enthusiasts!
I recently upgraded to the Sony Alpha 7 IV with the 28-70mm zoom lens, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. This camera is an absolute powerhouse, perfectly blending stunning photo quality with exceptional video performance. The 33MP full-frame sensor delivers sharp, detailed, and vibrant images even in low-light situations. Colors are rich and accurate, and the dynamic range is phenomenal. The autofocus system is lightning-fast and incredibly accurate, especially with eye detection for both humans and animals. It’s made shooting portraits and action shots seamless. For video creators, the 4K 60p recording with 10-bit 4:2:2 color depth is a game-changer. The image stabilization ensures smooth, cinematic footage, even when handheld. The footage looks professional straight out of the camera, and the customization options allow you to tweak settings to suit any workflow. The camera feels robust and well-built without being too heavy. The grip is comfortable for extended shoots, and the articulating touchscreen makes composing shots at any angle effortless. The intuitive menu system is much improved and easy to navigate, even for someone transitioning from another brand. The included 28-70mm lens is a solid starter for general photography. While not the fastest lens out there, it’s versatile enough for landscapes, portraits, and everyday shots. I’d recommend pairing the A7 IV with a higher-end lens in the future to unleash the camera’s full potential.

Amazing Camera
After 15 years of shooting exclusively with Nikon DSLRs, I finally made the switch to mirrorless. It was a big change, but I haven’t looked back. Sony continues to lead the mirrorless market, consistently pushing innovation while Nikon and Canon have spent years trying to catch up. The Sony A7IV is a perfect example of that progress. The build quality is excellent, with a solid, professional feel in the hand. The controls are well thought out, and the layout is intuitive. Coming from Nikon, there was a bit of an adjustment period, but once I got comfortable, the system felt fast, efficient, and well-designed. One of the biggest standouts is the autofocus. Face and eye detection are incredibly accurate, even in tricky lighting. It locks on and stays locked, which has saved me from missing countless shots. The 33MP sensor delivers sharp, detailed images with plenty of resolution for cropping or heavy post-processing. Battery life has been much better than I expected for a mirrorless body. I regularly get over 2,000 shots on a single battery during multi-hour shoots. The dual card slots are another huge plus for professional work—no one should be shooting serious jobs with only one card slot. And with strong performance in both stills and video, this camera is a great option for hybrid shooters. If you're thinking about moving from DSLR to mirrorless, or just upgrading your current gear, I highly recommend the A7IV. It’s a versatile, professional-grade camera that delivers consistently excellent results.

Amazing technology, better enables me for creativity.
I can't emphasize enough how amazing this camera is coming from the very first generation of the Sony A7. I was worried whether this was worth the extra $500 versus A7M3 but after typing it out, it seems like it was. Versus the A7M3, it has... - Higher resolution photos. - More autofocus points. - Bird eye autofocus. - Better stabilization. - 4k60p vs 4k30p video. - Higher res viewfinder/LCD. - Bigger image buffer. - 5GHz WiFi support. - USB3.2 support. To each their own, but it felt like for $500 difference, that was worth it for me in the long run. Having now for about a week, I will say coming from the Sony A7 (first gen) - it's amazing on all fronts. It does feel heavier, but the bigger battery, in-body image stabilization, and other cool tech shenanigans surely have to attribute to this. Autofocus is 99% perfect; seems like in dim-light scenarios, not as great as I was hoping but it's barely off. The video looks fantastic. Love the new menu system. An amazing amount of customization. Those just beginning will definitely want to study up on YouTube for what everything does. Flip out screen is great, but I do miss the first gen's folding system a little for outdoor photography; you can of course get MORE articulation with your screen now but it just takes longer to fold out, plus it's outside of the camera body which worries me with durability in mind. The quality of the body and grip feel fine; I am tending to miss the first gen's material choices as well but I think this will grow on me. Loving the arrangement of buttons and switch choices. Performance seems stellar. I paired with dual Lexar Professional 2000x (LSD2000128G-BNNNU) and haven't had any issues. Solid thumbs up, and can't wait to use this camera for 7+ years as I did with the first-gen.
