I originally awarded this set 2 stars because, much to my surprise, there is no sourdough starter in the Sourdough Starter Kit. Very annoyed. However after using this set for 2 months, making about 8 loafs, I am glad I bought the Set. The tools are very useful and the recipe for sourdough is a great place to start. Everything is well made and all are utilitarian. The Dutch dough mixer helps enormously, the lame (for scoring the bread before baking) is easy to use and I like the extra razor blades. I use the Teflon transfer sling for moving the proofed dough to my Dutch oven and for baking the bread, preventing burning on the bottom and easy removal after baking. The Banneton keeps the proofing dough shaped and safe during the rest in the refrigerator overnight. Separately the items would add up to significantly more than the set. Get this if you want a head-start on you baking career. Half a Star off for no starter culture. I bought mine on Amazon. Baking sourdough is Zen and this set is worth every penny.

My bread-making set is fantastic. I love the bamboo material used for the basket; the protective liner is washable, and the overall look is natural and fresh. Everything is made from high-quality materials—from the bamboo basket and plastic scrapers to the stainless steel dough cutter, which even features measurement markings. They are easy to clean and don't take up much space in the kitchen. It’s an excellent kit for a beginner like me; after using it on several occasions, I can recommend it 100%.

Good value for the money. This kit works very well for my introduction to sourdough baking. The various accessories are well made and sturdy. I don't use the bonnet much, since I have lots of cotton towels to drape over the banneton, but everything else gets lots of use.

Being a beginner at making Sourdough bread, this set is exactly what I needed. Great selection of tools a beginner of this project needed.
