My builder, installed an expensive soap dispenser in black and it never worked properly. I ordered this and it was easy to install and has worked great!

This is metal not metal coated plastic that some of the cheaper ones are made of. The soap bottle easily holds a whole bottle of Myer's dish soap. It was easy to install, can be filled from above the sink. We love it!

I've been using this Kohler soap pump from approximately five years. Soap is refilled from the top. Tonight, after refilling the soap I heard a thump in the cabinet. To my amazement the bottle somehow came completely unattached from its neck which is still screwed into the pump. Soap everywhere! So, yes buy the pump because it feels heavy and looks beautiful. But, don't use the bottle that Kohler provides, or be prepared to change it every two years to be safe. It seems the plastic is biodegradable and that is not good for the intended purpose of holding soap.

We have been through a few soap dispensers for the kitchen and all have been a waste of money. This is a good one. Looks really nice and works perfectly. Easy to install and use. ****Update April 2013...this dispenser no longer dispenses soap. We have tried everything to fix but it no longer works. Waste of money. This replaced my original Kohler dispenser in brushed chrome. That one lasted about 10 years until the pump tube failed and any replacement for that just didn’t fit or work properly. That finish is discontinued, but the vibrant stainless is a close enough match to my brushed chrome faucet. The above counter part of the dispenser is heavy, sturdy, and nicely finished. Unfortunately, the plastic bottle it came with broke after about two and a half years of use where the threads connect to the body of the bottle. It just separated and fell inside my cabinet. The corroded threads are stuck up inside the counter ring. I always filled from the top and never unscrewed the bottle from below the counter so the threads were not overworked. I was also very careful to not over tighten during installation. The bottle wasn’t even half full but created quite a mess. Cleaning up spilled dish detergent is no picnic. This is the perfect argument for having a liner for your cabinet floor. I do. It seems like the neck of the bottle just corroded into a ring of bits of white plastic mixed with detergent. I will now switch to one of those conversion kits that skip the hanging small bottle and have tubing leading to a large bottle that sits on the cabinet floor.

Just installed. Looks nice with Kohler K-560-CP Bellera Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet, Chrome. Works well, liquid soap comes out nicely. Time will tell...
