Works For Cub Cadet XT3
My tractor is a Cub Cadet XT3 Enduro Series with Kohler 22.5hp engine. My problems started with the tractor running normal, but reverse mowing was intermittent with the push button switch. After mowing a few minutes I could stop and successfully engage reverse mow. Eventually, the tractor would no longer run, it would start and then quickly shut down. This new switch has resolved the problem. Removing the old switch was pretty simple, raise the hood, remove negative battery connection, then carefully from the engine bay press on the locking tabs (4) to lift out the defective switch mechanism. A long straight blade screwdriver helped push on the tabs. Once the mechanism is fully released, carefully remove the two wire harnesses from the back side. The white harness has a push tab to release it, so do not force removal and break it. Installing the new harness was straight forward, but I could not get the larger black harness assembly fully seated, but it operates fine. When done reconnect the battery negative terminal and you should be good to go. My tractor operates "normal" with this new switch installed, and my old key works with it. My tractor reverse mowing function operates correctly, and shuts the PTO off correctly when reverse mowing is not activated. The attached photos are my tractor, with the new switch installed and the old switch displayed for reference. Hope this helps someone, good luck!

Perfect switch, but be aware if you order a key
The actual ignition switch is great. I replaced the ignition panel on our Cub Cadet SLTX 1054VT and it was a perfect fit. The unit seems well constructed and the panel lights as it should. The only problem I had was Amazon shipping: I ordered the ignition with the key, and they were sent separately. The ignition switch came in two days before the key did. If you are in a hurry and need to replace both, be aware that they may not arrive at the same time. If you have the old key, it may work in the new switch (ours did, but was so worn I replaced it and set it back as a spare). I gave 5 stars because the product itself is exactly what we needed and seems to be made to last for years (Amazon lately, not so much!)

Fits Cub Cadet Model LTX1046KW
Seems to work fine, appears to be an exact replacement. It was plug and play on my model Cub Cadet. Here is my review. I wanted to write it immediately after completing the installation so that every knuckle scrape, skin cut, and swearing episode was still fresh in my head. The switch assembly has four plastic tabs, two on each side. Removal is simple... Depress the plastic tabs which you can easily feel, and the assembly will pop out. There are two sets of cables that plug into it. Once the key assembly is out, unplug those two wire harnesses. Plug them into the new key assembly and you are good to go. They are an exact fit to the OEM key switch. A five minute job! Except - There was no way that my hand would fit inside the dashboard assembly to get to the switch. With a flashlight you can see it, you can touch it, but you cannot get your hand in position to push on those tabs. In hindsight it might... might... be possible to push on them with a long screw driver. That just might work, and I recommend giving it a try. The problem is that there is a steel frame which supports the gas tank, and it blocks access to the switch assembly. There is no good reason for it being designed this way. There is a special place in the afterlife for engineers that have never held a tool in their hands, and the person that designed this bit of kit belongs in the front row of that place. Four screws hold this metal frame to the tractor. Over the years I have managed to purchase just about every tool available to man, and a socket wrench with the proper extension will allow you to remove three of them without too much effort. But the fourth screw... the lower driver side screw which is perfectly positioned so that it is blocked by the oil fill tube, is nearly impossible to remove by mortal hands. I used every possible extension I had from short to longer... I tried to get a ratchet wrench in there. I tried pliers... nothing could get to that screw. Why any thinking humanoid would put a screw there is impossible to understand when there were so many other places it could have gone. Only someone who had never used his hands or held a wrench could have accomplished the feat. And so finally, after having removed the other three screws I grabbed onto the metal structure and bent it. Having pulled it out enough to get my hand inside the dashboard the actual replacement was simple and flawless. Another twenty short minutes of bending the metal back into place so I could put the three screws back in was not so simple... With much swearing and a some blood drawn I got two of them back in and called it a day. They were more than enough to secure the frame. Bottom line - Marveling at the world class stupidity of the design of a tractor produced by what used to be one of the most respected and best in class American corporations of all time, ie. International Harvester, the reason I needed to replace the key assembly was because I take particular care of my mower and periodically hose it down and then paste wax it. Apparently water had gotten inside the keyhole, while the key was inserted, and rusted the key and the inner workings. Not a machine that would do well in the rain. :(

Perfect match for my cub cadet Xt1 enduro
Fit perfect on my cub cadet xt1 enduro 46 inch mower , way cheaper than an oem ignition and it works with original cub cadet key. Looks and works exactly like the part it replaced , 5 stars

Start position on my 30 inch riding lawn mower (Troy Bilt) stopped "connecting". I couldn't find an EXACT replacement because the Troy Bilt (Canadian Tire) site was terrible. Checked with Amazon .ca and found the exact replacement was the same one made for a Club Cadet riding mower. - I guess all the smaller riding mowers use basically the same circuitry, so I was lucky to find that these switches were also made in Canada ! Double bonus with free shipping and I had the switch in four days. Took ten minutes to put the mower's electrics back together, turn the ignition key, (had to use the original one as there was NO key included with this switch) and was able to mow my neighbour's and my lawn again. I'm a happy mower again and my wife's a happier camper !
