I love Claxton fruit cake. It's great to keep chilled and eat in thin slices. It's a dense glob of candied fruit, raisins and nuts formed into 1 lb bars. It is not cakey at all. One of my favorite holiday treats.

My husband loves fruitcake. I think of fruitcake as a seasonal door stopper. But I have to say that I ate and liked this fruit cake. Who knew that this fruit cake would change my mind from door stopper to dessert? I tried both light and dark, and they were good. They were fresh, moist and full of nuts and fruit. They really worked for me with coffee in the morning. Now it appears I will be ordering fruit cake year round.
