Drills well in concrete
This is a perfect home owner tool . And maybe light commercial. The drill works adequately up to 1/2" . Sds bits fit snug and secure. Bits are easily changed. Thank you Dewalt

Soviet equivilent to milwaukee if it were an analogy drill.
Gets done. You tired? It ain't. These things run forever off one battery, (pad your shoulder before drilling for anchors, take the name-calling) and is right there with the chop-saws on jobsite "what gets used". These are solid machines and any contractor can tell you so. They just....keep drilling. Burning your hand? Keep drilling. To heavy? Keep drilling. Throwing sparks? DRILL HARDER. The Dewalt will always make it, the man usually falters.

Seems as good as my old Corded Bosch Bulldog
My old corded Bosch Bulldog hammer drill finally died. I was a little skeptical about getting a battery powered hammer drill, but after using it a few times I'm pleased with it's performance. I already have several Dewalt 20V tools so I didn't need the battery. If you are hammering a 1/2 or larger hole through a concrete foundation, you may go through a few batteries, but the power seems to be as good as that from my old Bosch.

Perfect for smaller projects or shorter run times.
This hammer drill works great with one caveat. It's really only good for smaller projects, like ripping up tile in a small bathroom. I need to remove about ~2000 sq ft of plaster from a brick wall and I could only go about 30min before the batteries (5A) would die and the drill would start to get very hot. Once the tool was running warm, it would eat batteries and I could only get run times of ~15min, if I was lucky. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, though I doubt it. You need to press against the object being removed which will then draw more amperage from the tool. I tried lightly pressing and firmly pressing while hammering on the plaster, and was met with the same issues. For this reason I switched to the corded version and I'm hoping this solves our specific problem. Otherwise, this drill is great, just know it won't handle hours of heavy use, unless you have a stockpile of batteries laying around. It's well weighted and produces a good amount of hammering force, just doesn't run long enough for our needs.

Durable, lightweight great for shallow trenching
bought this back in Oct. and I wish I would have bought it sooner! I use it to loosen the ground for my wife's plants and for trenching in Az. The ground is hard as rock and was using a pick axe with mixed results. I have also used it as a masonry block drill and works well for that too. light weight compared to rentals. has held up well very happy with Dewalt tools!

Unbeatable rotary hammer!
It's a Dewalt power tool. That sums everything up pretty much. I admit I haven't used it much at all minus as a regular drill since I got my SDS+ to 1/2" chuck adaptor. Will be removing a LOT of tile at home in the near future. The hammer isnt overly heavy, and definitely has the power necessary to destroy concrete when paired with a good chisel. You'll definitely want at least a 5AH battery for this bad boy. I went with 2 6AH to be safe. Whether you're hammer drilling, regular drilling [w/adapter chuck], or just plain hammering/chipping, this tool will get the job done. Only real complaint I have is they didnt put a light on this tool. My hammer drill has a light with 3 brightness settings. Even a non adjustable light would've made this thing perfect. If you're on the fence over this model or the compact, go for this one! It has more impact joules energy and costs waaaaaay less. If you're working in tight spaces though, then you'd definitely want the compact model.....obviously. Since I haven't had this tool very long, I'll update if any issues arise, but I don't foresee that happening. Fourth Dewalt brushless cordless tool and no issues with the first 3.....even after one fell into a pool for a couple of minutes. Dried out the impact driver and it's still kicking ass a couple of years later! You can't go wrong with Dewalt. Period.
