Swing Top Glass Bottles (Plastic Top)

These bottles are very nice. Swing Top Grolsch Glass Bottles CERAMIC LIDS Clear 16oz - 6 Set - Brew Kombucha Kefir Beer - Extra Gaskets They arrived, very neatly and carefully packaged--each bottle in 2 plastic bubble sleeves and separated by a cardboard divider insert. All of my bottles were intact and arrived with the swing top mechanism assembled and in place, so there was no question as to which way to install them. After reading the reviews, I expected the tops to be stiff and difficult to open and close at first, so my husband helped me open and close each bottle several times before I washed them for use. Since doing that, they are really no trouble to open or close--as long as you're not expecting them to be as easy as a simple twist cap. It takes a little strength of thumb and forefinger to operate the swing top mechanism, but it isn't a deal breaker for me (at 60+). I have used them twice for 2nd fermentation when making Kombucha and I am very pleased with them overall. I bought this type of bottle so that I could hopefully achieve some carbonation during the second ferment--needing something that will hold up well with contents under some pressure. My Kombucha brew process is early (my SCOBYs are young) and I didn't achieve enough fermentation with these first two batches to cause much carbonation, so I can't say how well these bottles will perform with the pressure of carbonation. But they seem very durable and well made to me, and the glass is quite thick or of a heavy gauge. . I ordered this bottle brush to clean them with. Its bristles are quite soft, and it fits in the bottles real well and does a nice job overall. I experienced only one issue removing some Spirulina from one bottle. The brush doesn't quite reach the outermost edge of the inside bottom with enough stiffness to dislodge a small bit that appears to be very stubborn. **UPDATED Review** The seller contacted me to offer a complimentary product replacement. The new bottles they sent are definitely much improved. They seal nicely and are airtight. They work excellently for brewing water kefir. Their customer service was excellent. I will happily buy from them again. Original review: These bottles do not seal well at all. I bought some a few years ago, and they still seal really well. I use these to make water Kiefer. The shape of the bottle has changed, the metal clasp is loose, and the glass of these bottles is cloudy. This is a much inferior product. I would not buy these again.

Updated review: After initially receiving my order (Sept 2025) I was unhappy with the quality. I bought these in 2021 and they were great! But the latest order was lower quality (thinner glass and had weaker snap tops that did not seal). So I returned the bottles a left negative review. However, the seller reached out to inform me that they had received a bad batch of bottles from the supplier that did not meet their quality expectations and offered to send me another set of bottles from the new batch once they were available. I received my replacement order today and the quality is great! They are just like the ones I initially bought in 2021. This is a good seller that cares about quality. I would recommend.

Made some homemade applecider, and these bottles worked great! I like the stopper on the top, which works great! Leakproof. Great for gifting.

Update: I contacted customer service through Amazon again, and they arranged for a return and replacement. Ya, Amazon! They just arrived, and in upacking them, I noticed that the bottles were again cloudy with a weird film on them. They were the exact same bottles as the last ones, and they too, do not seal properly. I also noticed that one has a hairline crack along the top of the bottle near where the metal arm attaches to the bottle. Hugely disappointing. I decided to do a little research, since my first set of bottles from this same product page (I got for a Christmas present off of my wish list in 2023) are awesome and I've had no problems with them. Here is what I noticed: the bottles are completely different bottles than I received for Christmas 2023. I have included several pictures so you can see both the cloudy weirdness, a picture so you can see the difference between the two bottles, and a picture of the crack by the metal at the top . The bottles I got over a year ago have a completely different shape, are thinner, and all sealed perfectly day one and have sealed unfailingly since I got them. They have obviously changed the bottles, and not for the better. I will be returning these, again. The bottle on the left is the original Christmas present bottle, the bottle on the right is one I received today. Arrived on time in good condition. They looked a little dingy when I pulled them out of the packaging , but washed up fine. I put an entire batch of kombucha in them for second ferment, and initially it seemed that only one of the bottles wouldn’t seal. I tried one of the new gaskets, still too loose. Tried to contact the manufacturer’s customer service- link didn’t work. Contacted Amazon and got a $10 credit. Was reasonably happy with the solution as I’d already used them, a return wasn’t happening. Now I’m finding out the majority 4/6 of the bottles are not dealing properly, so my second ferment is flat and lifeless. Gonna reach out to customer service again. Very disappointed.

Good bottles, they did not have an air tight seal with the rubber rings that came installed on the bottles, but once I replaced the seals with the others ones the bottles came with they worked great.

These bottles are very well made! They have seal very well.

These are great. They have ceramic tops and are robust and perfect for my kombucha. The bottles came very well packed with spare seals and nice bottle labels that can be reused. Really pleased with these and will stock up with more when I need them. They hold the carbonation extremely well and I expect them to last a good while. Worth the slightly higher cost than cheaper ones as they are so well made.
