Great gift
This is so great to do with your little ones. My 3 year old had a great time making this. Plus he gets to play with it after he was done.

Otherwise a fantastic toy. Grandson loves making it
Missing a spindle or rod for one set of wheels... Which is a real problem. Otherwise a fantastic toy. Grandson loves making it... Can anything be done re the missing rod please?

I Did It! (4 yr. old)
Bought this for a 4 year old (despite the packaging that says for ages 5+... we all think that our little ones are more advanced than average don't we :) ). He managed to build 70% of it. As in other reviews, he needed help to get the decals to align properly. He loves the fact that he put this together himself. One note... As soon as he put this together, he wanted to take some of it apart... easier said than done. Some of the parts fit so tightly (portions that snapped together versus screwed on), that even I had a hard time removing. All-in-all, a great product from a well-known model building company.

Great fun
My grandson loved building it alone. He was very proud of himself.

Actually Worked Out Beautifully for My 3 1/2 Year Old Daughter
My 3 1/2 year old daughter, who watches her bigger brothers build model cars (albeit they are teens so their model car kits are much more complicated and advanced), absolutely loves assembling and building things. Even though this kit says it's for ages 5 and up I think it really depends on the individual child. My 3 1/2 year old was able to do a lot of this with minimal guidance although there were some things we had to outright do for her. This proved to be a wonderful bonding time project. My daughter was so excited to have "her own" screwdriver and her very own car kit to put together. My daughter, her father, and I sat at the kitchen table as she worked on this with us. It took us a little over an hour from start to finish (I'm sure an adult putting it together themselves could do it much more quickly). This proved to be a big hit in our home and my daughter was so pleased with herself for building her very own mode fire truck. I definitely recommend for children who like to be hands on and enjoy building and creating things.

Wheels constantly unscrew during play.
Fire truck came with two radiator grills (supposed to be one) and one blue lens (supposed to be two). Tried calling 1-800-833-3570 as printed on the box and it says invalid extension, goodbye. Also the wheels unscrew themselves just from being pushed a few feet on the carpet. Pretty unsatisfied with this fire truck and the lack of support.

The wheels keep coming off
The wheels are an absolute nightmare! They keep coming off with regular play, because they turn in the same direction that loosens the screws. The upside is that I can teach the toddler about responsibilities to keep the screwdriver safe, and about righty tighty, lefty loosy. I'm about to superglue the damn things on though. Outside of that it's not a bad toy - the wheels just absolutely ruin it.
