Highly Versatile and very quick to set up
Normally I do not have time at weddings to set up a slider in order to get super smooth shots, so I have to use the combination of a gimbal and software correction to get smooth cinematic establishing shots. I purchased this Slypod, hoping it would help me quickly get the clips I need without taking too long to set for every single idea I have. This thing delivered on my expectations. I'm sure many of you who are looking at this have already watched youtube videos to see how others are using it, and I can only verify what you have seen: it's amazingly fast to set up and get your clips. The weight: This thing is NOT light. I totally get why this is the case and am happy with the quality of the build, but it is not even remotely "light". If you plan to use a tripod (you really need to in most situations) then you should make sure to take into account the weight of your camera gear and the Slypod, so you don't get too lightweight of a tripod. The battery: This does not have a removable battery. I'm very disappointed by this, but you can just use a USB-C cable and portable cell phone chargers or a v-mount battery with USB ports like a Juicebox. (this is what I do). Not everyone is going to need to charge it during a single day of use, so it just depends on how long you plan to use it in a single day. Complaints: My only "complaint" with this piece of equipment is how loud it is when you use it at its faster settings, so if you need to have the camera moving very quickly while recording a clip, but also silent, then this is not going to help you. It is very very quiet at the slowest speed setting, in fact, the slowest setting is so slow and quiet, that movement is barely perceivable at all, so it's very useful for timelapse sequences.

More than just a slider
I have had the Slypod Pro on a couple of shoots now and it has helped greatly. A lot of the time I am shooting by myself and the Slypod Pro helped me get shots that I wouldn't be able to get otherwise. It can be a little loud when running a full speed, but it has a quiet mode for when you are doing interviews. It also acts as a monopod so it doesn't take up much room when traveling.

The worst implemented piece of gear on the planet
I would give this product a negative 8 billion stars if I could. WHO CARES what capabilities the hardware has, if you cannot control it? The buttons do not let you run the slider at a predetermined speed. A short press (click) on these buttons does nothing. So you have to slightly hold the buttons down to start movement. When its motion starts, it will always be at a random speed, sloe or medium or fast, and there is no correlation between button press methodology and initial speed. So then you have to adjust the speed on the fly via subsequent clicks while in motion. By the time you get it adjusted to desired speed, half the slider's travel is wasted. Now let's talk about the app, which disconnects after about 20 seconds of not being touched. So if you start an infinite loop via the app, you will have to go back to the connect page and reconnect the app in order to stop the infinite loop. The app gives you no simple way to set a start and end point and speed and then start that motion with a press. Instead, you have to set the duration of that motion. This means if you want the slider to go between 2 setpoints at max speed, you have to trial and error guess 20 times what that duration would be, beczuse if you set it too short, the app will say it's too short (for max speed), but won't prompt you what the min duration would be. The worst GUI ever! The one mode that DOES let you choose a speed directly via a slider (regular mode), the slider requires a separate click on an icon to access, instead of being visible on the side like in the acceleration mode. And then in regular mode you have to click and HOLD the up or down icons to extend or retract. The gearshift and acceleration modes both are nonconstant speeds, which are useless if you want a steady predetemined speed. Again, WHO CARES what features the hardware has, when they cannot be controlled. Plua the English manual is 100% useless. Its terminology is inconsistent between text and diagrams. When I notified Moza, they said they WOULD NOT update the manual, leaving me guessing at how to even operate this gear. And I spent $600 for this thing...the manuals should have been IMPECCABLE. The app should have been ROCK SOLID and simple to use. Moza is the worst gear company in thr world, making users GUESS on how to TRY to use this useless slider. I am running latest app and latest Slypod Pro firmware.

Quite good if not perfect
This does what it claims do do, namely, extends and retracts to let you take "push" and "pull" shots for your videos. It isn't silent, nor is it completely shake-free. Supported by two tripods and using a Blabkmagic PCC 6K Pro in horizontal mode resulted in some unsteadiness. The shots were usable, but not rock-steady, especially when starting/stopping and at the end of the pole's travel. A lighter camera would likely do better. The unsteadiness seems to arise from flex in the carbon fiber tube, not from tripod movement. Still, it's smoother than anything I could get handheld or with a gimbal, so I'm glad to have it. Operation isn't intuitive. I need to re-read the instructions about how to control speed. Sometimes a single push sends it zipping along and other times, it barely creeps. But that's on me, not a fault of the device. Just don't skip the instructions.
