Good book covering capital cities. I read this to my class and to my surprise they loved this book. They like to say what came next and what happened there. Nice opening to explore other places. Some rhyming words so another opening for a lesson.

This is a terrific read-aloud book for the little ones. Intrepid aviator Emma Jane sets off one night in her aeroplane, visiting some of the world's big cities and picking up a menagerie of interesting animals along the way. When things go wrong, the newfound friends have to band together. Haworth's verse has a good rhythm and lots of lovely imagery and word-ish delights that make it fun for both reader and wee listener. There should be no problems reading this over and over. There's a nice level of zaniness, and lots of fun. This is bolstered by great illustrations from Rieley, who brings Emma Jane's adventures, the cities, and animals, all to vivid life on the page. Plenty to look at, point out, discover and enjoy on re-reads. Top stuff all around. I read a lot of children's books to my 2-year-old, and there's a big range out there in terms of quality and readability. EMMA JANE'S AEROPLANE is a definite winner.
