Very quiet unit....would like a bit more pressure, but works fine..

Not worth the time or money. Didn't last 6 months in a 10 gallon tank and no replacement parts sold for it. Zero Stars from Me!

I bought the first one to replace an old, cheap, dying air pump that was driving my sponge filter. The new one couldn't even get one bubble out of the sponge filter, so I reported it DOA and got a replacement, which is exactly the same. They make noise and vibrate, but you can barely feel the difference between on and off in the airflow. Utter garbage.

I got this to run 2 under-gravel filters and an air stone. The pump is rated for an 80 gallon tank. I have a 55 gallon tank with another air pump also running. If I turn the air flow up all the way, it barely gets the air stone working. I have to decrease the air going to the under-gravel filters to get it to work. It is a lot quieter than my other one.

Everything worked great .. for a month. exactly 30 days from installation I started hearing a grinding noise coming from underneath my tank. The pump functioned normally, but made a loud grinding noise. When I removed both air tubes, the noise went away, when I plugged them back in, it started again. Sent it back. It's a shame with a name like Fluval this broke down. It seems they pulled them off the shelf since these have not been in stock for weeks and the reviews are horrible. I should have read the reviews.

This air filter was great for 6 months running to medium sized bubblers. Then it suddenly stop producing the same air flow. I replaced the hoses, I replaced the air stones and now it doesn’t produce even air at all. Very disappointed. I bought fluval because I have had great luck with their FX6’s and FX5’s and the FX4. And even their small filtration filters.

Good product, bubbles make more noise. Pump is silent.

The A202 is a chunky pump coming in at 0.75 kg so it is stable and won’t wobble off a firm surface with its spiky rubber feet clinging on. The pump is delivered without pipe work, check valves or air stones - so I guess that saves Fluval a few pennies in manufacturing and supply costs. The manual has a warning the use of non-Fluval accessories could damage the pump - this is not credible. In any case I bought a pack of tubes, check valves and air stones from this site at a modest price. I am running a DIY sponge filter and one air stone from the pump, they fed by 2 metre pipes. The twin control knobs are both set on minimum - the pressure up to max only appears to be an increase of about 20%. In fact there does not seem to be individual control of the two outlets. Fitting air pipes is simple with a dab of washing up liquid to ease the pipes onto the recessed nipples. Warranty is 1 year plus another year on registration. The pump noise is a quiet hum and from ten is barely heard. From a foot away I measured about 40 dB, that’s about whispering level. Air outlets and power inlet are both on the same side I found this useful for installation.
