War Eagle Mill Yellow Cornmeal, Organic and non-GMO, stone-ground in the Ozarks (2 lbs)

First time I have purchased this brand of cornmeal and am pleased with the freshness and flavor. The grind is a perfect consistency for the buttermilk corn bread I make frequently. Just remember to keep meal in the refrigerator or freezer so it stays fresh, but allow the meal to return to room temperature before making corn bread. It also helps when baking to set out all refrigerated ingredients such as eggs and milk for at least an hour to take the chill off.

This is great stuff! It tastes like fresh corn. It's much better than the big name commercially prepared cornmeals, and certainly healthier. I made sorullitos (a deep fried Spanish corn & cheese snack) and they were delicious! Cornbread is next on the list!

The flavor, freshness, packaging was all fine, but it’s not very finely milled. There were some pretty large pieces. I didn’t research much before buying so maybe it’s my fault, but I made cornbread with this and it was kinda crunchy/sandy because of the big pieces. Next time I’ll have to grind it down more or sift it or something. Not what I expected.

This is better than regular store bought cornmeal (Aunt Jemima & Quaker etc..). The only way to make my cornbread to come out as good as this product produces, is to grind up the corn myself.

I normally order the cornmeal directly from War Eagle Mill but the shipping is too high for just this size bag. So when I found it on Amazon for a good price, I was quite happy. This cornmeal tastes just like fresh ground corn and has more moisture. I love the yellow and white cornmeal. The work very well in any recipe that you need cornmeal as an ingredient.

This was absolute garbage. Tasted rotten and did not have an expiration date on the bag. Do not buy this product. I can’t even give it one star. Absolute garbage. So mad I wasted my money!!!!!!!’

Definitely did not work for cooking polenta, too coarse. I made cornbread and it's fine. As far as fresh smell of corn as some say it was non existent an neither was the taste.

Just made some cornbread without flour, and this was so good. Will definitely be buying this again.
