This pad has been a HUGE hit in my house. My toddler loves “painting” the farm scenes and watching the colors appear. Once the pages dry, she can start all over again, which means it keeps her entertained for much longer than most activities. It’s completely mess-free (just water), which I really appreciate, and the chunky water pen is easy for little hands to hold. The book itself feels sturdy, and the plastic flaps and pages have held up well to repeated use. It’s also small enough to throw in a bag, so it works great for travel or quiet play. Overall, it’s simple, reusable, and worth having on hand. Seemingly appropriate for toddlers and up.

These are great for keeping toddlers busy in the car. I love that they are reusable and easy to take on the go. My daughters started using these around 18 months old and even they can figure it out.

Bought this for my toddler who’s 1.5 yrs old. Perfect for his age and will definitely continue to order them. Very fun activity and no big mess. I love that the pages dry and he can color them again! At his age, that is perfect.

We got this for our 18 month old to play with. The main idea was to bring it with us to restaurants to keep him entertained without making a huge mess like he would at home. It absolutely did the trick. I don't really know how it does what it does but it's pretty neat how it works. The pen is easy to fill up and holds a decent amount of water. You could color a few pages with it before needing to refill it. The brush doesn't leak a lot of water at once so it doesn't just become a water mess either. The pages dry up relatively quick as well so you can start over on the same picture fairly easy. When they are colored the colors are very bright and look nice. There's even a few hidden images that become exposed once they are colored. Overall it's a really great toy for our son and we are very happy with it. Melissa & Doug products are some our favorite and this is no exception. High quality product at a great price. Would definitely recommend.

Cute and perfect for toddler

This has been a wonderful toy for my toddler. I recommend using a regular soft square tipped paint brush and a silicone plate with a tiny bit of water so they can dip and "paint" easily. The brush it comes with will do on the go, but it doesn't function very well. I find that the brush pen it comes with isn't easy to release water to actually paint, so the material rubs off on the page leaving colorful scratches in the pages. It's lasted a long time but that's also due to him using a regular brush now instead of the one it comes with. Great toy though, just some tweaks to make it perfect for us.

These were recommended to me by a young mother to purchase for my four and three year old grandchildren. They just love them and use them over and over again. No mess. I had to buy replacement pens when my dog ate one, but you can also find those on Amazon. These books would be a good travel distraction. I’ve now purchased several to have on hand.

These little books are genius. I loved the paint with water books when I was a child, but these books take it to the next level! They are reusable which is the best feature. As you paint with water, little hidden things appear in the adorable illustrations, and each page has you look for something different. It’s fun for toddlers, preschool, and possibly early elementary kids. Easy enough to throw in a diaper bag or purse to entertain kids at a restaurant or some other event. It comes with a pen like paint brush that you add some water to. When your child is finished, there is a plastic holder for the brush to be returned to for the next time. Once the pages dry, they are ready for fun all over again. I thought the price seemed a little steep originally, but once I realized it’s reusable, it seems more worth it.

Brilliant product that's so convenient, way to carry n mess-free! My kid loves it and wants to fill up all pages every single day. And to be honest, is not just for kids, I do catch adults filling it up quite enthusiastically too. It's such a lovely gift. It teaches kids patience, painting within the lines (although not required) and helps develop fine motor skills. Let's not forget the many new objects that magically appear and help increase vocabulary. Full marks for this!
