Taste: My Life Through Food (Audio Download): Stanley Tucci, Stanley Tucci, Penguin Audio: desertcart.co.uk: Audible Books & Originals Review: Autobiography of Stanley Tucci and is great - This is an autobiography of Stanley Tucci and is a great read. It starts in mid life and is very interesting. When he describes family recipes he then gives a list of ingredients and how to prepare the recipe from scratch. This is a good insight into family meals. When he visits restuarants he advises what is good to eat there. This is great as we are going to Vancouver and we have made a reservation of the suggested restuarant for my birthday. There is one sad part as he describes when he has tongue cancer and the treatment given and how this affected how he ate. The style is very engaging and I read it swiftly. It is easy to follow and full of living with many children of varing ages. There is one sad part as he describes the treatment he had and the difficulty with eating with tongue cancer. Naturally he family were supportive. The way it is written is very engaging and is in a style that is easy to follow. I will read more of his books. Review: Loved! - I read this while on holiday in Italy. It's littered with recipes so you can almost taste and smell the experiences within the book. I can't say I've followed any of the recipies yet but it adds a new dimension to reading which I thoroughly enjoyed.

A Delicious Dive into the World of Food and Memories
I thoroughly enjoyed Taste by Stanley Tucci. It's not just a memoir, but a beautifully written exploration of the connections between food, family, and the moments that shape our lives. Tucci’s storytelling is warm, engaging, and full of passion for food, which really shines through in every chapter. His reflections on growing up surrounded by a love of cooking, his adventures in the kitchens of Italy, and the profound connection he has with his family over meals felt so genuine. What I really loved was how Tucci brings food to life, not just as something we eat, but as an experience that can hold deep emotional significance. His recipes are a nice touch too, but it’s his personal anecdotes and humour that make the book stand out. It’s an insightful, fun, and heartfelt read that had me laughing and even tearing up at times. If you're a fan of food, family, or memoirs that feel like you're chatting with a close friend over dinner, Taste is definitely worth picking up.

Charismatic storyteller- not just for foodies!
Stanley Tucci has had an amazing career but has also had his share of personal sadness. As a cancer survivor myself, I found his story humbling, fascinating, humorous, and above all uplifting. Having listened to him narrate his recent TV series on Italian food, one can hear his enthusiastic voice when reading the chapters which comes through clearly and sincerely. I took this book with me on a recent trip to Southern Italy, after completing my final treatment session. It certainly helped me to understand, accept and appreciate the importance that family, friends and good food have in our lives. A great autobiography, with the added benefit of simple but delicious recipes. What more could one ask for? Another volume perhaps…

Rich anecdotes with recipes!
What an excellent autobiography! I listened to Stanley, himself, read the book toe on Audible and it was truly a treat. Stanley has a rich past - filled with travel, food, and famous faces. He is a natural storyteller and just your average good human. I love that he includes recipes throughout. He spoke at length about his film Big Night, which made me want to watch it for the first time ever. It's old enough now that I was astounded to see Stanley with hair! Really good film though, and it incorporates a lot of Stanley's upbringing in an Italian family. All hail the timpano!

A comforting and engaging read
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, which I found very engaging and almost relaxing. It’s not a cook book and it’s not an autobiography. It’s an amble through Stanley’s life in food, taking you through different experiences and loves from the world of food. It also had sizeable nods to his background and his broader story, which are interesting reads. I think it probably helps to have watched his tv series, and I will admit that I read the whole thing in his voice. It helps you get into the style.

This is the second book by Stanley Tucci that I have read. The first was What I Ate in One Year. I loved both books. Such an intelligent and gifted writer and love his sense of humor. He has lead such an interesting life and there are many stories about food, family and travel and his career as an actor.
