I’m genuinely stunned with this butterfly net. I had no idea when I ordered it that it would be so impressive. I expected just a chintzy rolled metal shaft, and a flimsy net attached to a wire hoop. And that would’ve been just fine - we’re catching butterflies here, not wolverines. But the product I received definitely surpassed my expectations. The hoop folds on a hinge, making it compact and easily stowed in a bag. The handle threads into the hoop, securing the folding sections together. And the telescopic shaft is actually good quality, like a heavy-duty radio antenna. It feels very sturdy when extended; the telescopic sections slide smoothly up and down, with enough resistance so that it won’t accidentally collapse. And I didn’t expect it to be this long (TWSS)! I hadn’t intended to go a-huntin’ flutterbys right away, but was so impressed with the net, I felt compelled to head straight out to the garden. Sure enough, I immediately discovered a couple of pesky pieris rapae which have been destroying some of my plants. On the very first pass with my new net, I captured one of the pretty little bastages. I’m catching all of these fluttering little jerks, and setting out a nice mantis buffet.

Works Good for catching annoying flies. We have flies everywhere in our house (happens every spring) so far the best has been mason jarring them from the ceiling one at a time. This net lets me catch about 7 at a time and let me catch them mid air. The net is a good quality seems nice and strong, the only negative is that it has a slight unpleasant smell that I am sure will go away with time.

This is a pretty great butterfly net. I appreciate the extendability, and it seems fairly sturdy. However it is won’t stay retracted. Always slides out and around. This makes it seem annoying and cheap. It still works for catching “field plankton” for my reptiles, but there is certainly room for improvement.

This is a good product, larger than I expected but that’s on me. Fairly solid construction.

Great little net that extends to a longer length on the handle. A good price too.
