The card is damaged. The external cardboard box was ok but the internal box for card is damaged. Cannot insert the cable in one slot. Will test the card and see if it still works.

This card works fine in Linux or windows but it’s not compatible in a virtual setup. So if you’re looking for NIC for a normal workstation this will be fine. But don’t get it for a home lab setup. Giving it 4 stars because it will be fine for most people.I tried it with proxmox and didn’t work, and it’s not compatible with ESXI 8 (or 7) either. Tried looking for community based drivers and create a custom ISO of ESXI and it still didn’t work. It’s not worth the hassle to further troubleshoot, I ended up returning it and going with a NIC from the HCL on ESXI.

Card works but Bracket on the card is a bit flimsy and can easily be bent. To in install the top lip of the bracket was much higher than the normal and had to be pressed down with more than usual force to ensure that the screw catches the threads. Chose to get a more expensive 10G card.

not working after a month it keeps sending overrun packets, but the other intel NIC does not and it is on the same system

I tried the card with pfSense, OPNsense, and IPFire. Card worked excellent on all three firewall OS's

works amazing. bought two of those specifically because i know they are Linux compatible as well as windows. i use one for a custom Linux based clearos firewall everything works out of the box. used the other one for a custom freenas nas also linux based and everything works out of the box. nic teaming was a breeze with this in freenas i have 4ghz throughput. its fast!. this nic was also tested with vmware esxi and was picked up out of the box. seller was very good and shipping was fast i definitely recommend and will be buying again. the price for this is simply too good.
