An easy to read textbook about coaching, in deed. Very well structured and even for beginners utmost understandingly written the author gives detailed and yet comprehensive insights into the topic and the skills necessary to perform as a coach. Commonly used frameworks and models are presented as well as a typical coaching process and useful tools. For me it was truly easy to follow the logical structure and text although I am not a student or professional in this field at the moment. I must admit it made me thinking about learning more about it and maybe one day become a coach myself. I especially appreciated that every chapter starts with a brief overview of the information and content on the following pages, as well as it ends with a very brief summary (might come handy as some kind of ‘cheat sheet’ 😉) of each chapter. Furthermore I think the practical tips and examples, assignments and forms and the long list of right questions a professional coach should ask make the book a best buy for everybody who wants to gain a great insight into coaching, the concept, process and necessary skills and that in just a little more than 100 pages.

As a business student, this is the type of textbook that you hope a professor assigns – concise, understandable, and readily applicable – not to mention, extremely affordable. The book will help both current and future managers to further develop their coaching skills and hold more effective coaching conversations, focusing on key principles that readers may easily apply in their day-to-day interactions with both peers and direct reports. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to enhance their knowledge of coaching theory, while learning to ask better questions, listen more carefully, and hold deeper conversations.

Wonderful overview of the coaching enterprise! I learned the basic functions, skills, and tools of coaching. Replete with practical exercises, this book is great for a beginner like myself to know what coaching actually is - a person who helps others tap into and develop their potential! If you want to become more persuasive and help others to think in new directions - this is a book for you! I also appreciate the mindmaps, videos, and other samples that come as a result of the purchase. Well done!

This is a passionate, empathic book full of broad knowledge and deep wisdom. When I read it I felt the compassion and spirit for helping others, for helping them grow, collaborate and shine in the often so competitive world. This book really showed me what coaching is all about and how important it is to guide the other by listening and by letting them discover it by themselves, with that gentle hand of the coach that is so needed in tough times and when things become overwhelming. I am an entrepreneur and author myself and this book helped me to see the benefits of coaching clearly. I know now what to expect and when to reach out for a coach for help. I now also know what work I have to do in advance and in the process. And the best of it: With this book I got a fast and easy training in developing coaching skills myself. As I also work in teams and with clients, this benefits the whole work process. I got a lot of inspiration from this book. So that was great! Even if you are not a native English speaker like me, this book is still something for you: It is easy and fast to read, well structured and it makes sure that the new aquired knowledge stays in your long-term memory. Great book for those who want to learn something new fast and easy!
