LG AN-MR21GC Magic Remote w/NFC (2021)

So far this remote has worked very well. It is an exact match to the original remote that came with my LG TV. It was easy to pair the new remote to the TV. I just hope it lasts at least a couple of years before the buttons starts being non-responsive like the original remote. I never understand how the TV manufacturers can crank out such high quality TV's, but ship them with remotes that barley last a couple of years. Very annoying. The remote arrived about a week before the estimated delivery date, which was a very pleasant surprise.

Let me start by giving a little bit of advice.. DO NOT use the included battery as they will leak within a few weeks and render the remote useless….That is what happened with the remote included with my C1 OLED purchase so I ordered this one installed some Duracell battery and one issue. Just press the select button and it pares with your television! Thank Goodness! The only 2 problems I've had with this remote is with: #1 The white-paint on the rubber symbols; it wears off in a couple of years (on the buttons that recieve most use). That happened with all 5 magic remotes I've pared my five LG TVs I've owned. The #2 problem: I ordered this replacement remote because the "select wheel" broke after 2 yrs & its for the LG 2021 OLED65G1 model. Its for my elderly mother; she pressed the select-wheel (maybe too forcefully?), it went inward too-far & became permanently dislodge. The wheel fell inside the remote housing & was rattling around loose on the unside of the controller. I have two of these same televisions so I bought another (extra) Magic-remote just in case... because The television itself is fairly useless if the select button on the remote control with broken. I had to do a simultcast from my phone's entertainment app to that television so My mother could watch her TV.

It is too early to really rate or review the LG AN-MR21GC Magic Remote, as I have only had it a week. I can say that it feels much more substantial than the one LG supplies with the TV, and I can think of no reason why they should not include this one as the default remote. I purchased it because we tend to use the right and left navigation and fast forward and reverse buttons A LOT; and on the original remote, those felt flimsy and I felt they would probably fail before too long leaving us with an unusable main TV until we could hunt down and get a replacement. For the price, I felt this one would be a reasonable insurance against that. It paired with the TV in a perfectly automated fashion in only a few seconds, and there have been no problems with it losing its pairing. I don't (yet) use any of the features of the TV that are not accessible using the standard remote, so I cannot comment on its control of those. Being able to point and click and scroll with a wheel is definitely more convenient and time saving, and I really appreciate not having all the other buttons that this remote eliminates as that makes it a lot better fit to the hand and FAR fewer wrong button clicks. I do wish they had made the four colored buttons user programmable, and/or provided more direct app access buttons (yes, I did program the number buttons to operate as instant app access, but I haven't used them enough to memorize what is where or learn to make them operate correctly yet). All in all, I feel it is a worthwhile upgrade to the TV, but would have preferred to have gotten it in the same box rather than buying separately. To do that, I would have been perfectly willing to pay a little more for the TV. From other reviews, it seems there are incompatible other Magic Remotes for different TV models, so be sure to get one that is right for your TV. This one does work well with the UP7670 series models (I don't know which others).

The LG CineBeam Q HU710PB that I purchased came with a lame IR remote with no Bluetooth which made it almost impossible to use with a projector which is usually behind you. I did some research and found that this remote would work so I purchased it and I am very happy. It functions exactly as I expected it to. They should have shipped the projector with this Bluetooth remote instead and a lot more people would be happy.

I lost my remote and this replacement works just like the original. It was easy to pair too, the tv pretty much detected it.

J’ai achetyun tv LG ‘65'en novembre 2021. La télécommande fournie dans le carton est la version basique. J’ai donc voulu acheter la version haut de gamme 50€ de plus. Voici mon ressenti. Cette magic remote dernière version 2021 est un très bel objet. On met les piles dedans et la tv la reconnait immédiatement et lance le couplage des deux. Vous pouvez alors enlever les piles de l’ancienne télécommande pour la ranger! Le vrai apport de cette magic remote 2021( comme la 2020 d’ailleurs), c’est le curseur façon souris d’ordi. C’est pratique, précis, rapide et efficace! Le bouton centrale se trouve de suite sans regarder, juste au toucher. C’est pratique. Pour le reste, et en comparaison avec l’ancienne télécommande basique incluse avec ma télé (qui est de 2021 également, ma télé est neuve), il n’y a aucune différence. Les memes boutons de raccourcis que ce soit pour les réglages et/ou applications (netflix-prime-disney-rakuten). Le bouton centrale est bof et difficile a identifier au toucher et même au regard si la piece est sombre, le relief des touches est bof au aussi par rapport a la magic remote. Cette télécommande crée de l’affect car l’objet est beau et attachant et surtout, quand on doit taper au clavier numérique, ca prend tout son sens. Pour le reste, ca n’apporte rien de plus. La fonction alexa et google voice sont assez aléatoires, et ont des etreurs de connexion serveur (je suis en fibre), rien a voir avec les boitiers dédiés. La fonction nfc n’a aucun sens si vous avez un iphone. Par ailleurs, avec un android, je ne vois pas vrailent l’intérêt non plus… Pour info, si vous souhaitez le curseur souris sans achetez cette magic remote, utilisez l’application lg thinq. Elle propose cette fonction. Quasiment 50€ pour un curseur de souris rapide, c’est un choix… sinon c’est beau, classe et agréable en main et au regard. A vous de voir… Je réfléchis sur le fait de la renvoyer.
